L1: Base layer (nostr) - nothing matters more than credible neutrality here. Follow cypherpunk ethos. L2: App layer (clients, apps, games, communities, etc) - this is where VCs and companies belong and are valuable
One reason Web 2.0 is failing is bc companies can’t do L1. One reason why “Web 3.0” social has failed is bc VC can’t finance L1. One reason why Nostr is succeeding is bc it follows the correct ethos of an L1: anon founder, no company, no investors, no token.
