It's still funny when someone emphasises the contribution that Indians made for Britain during WWII... like, mate, we were literally getting bombed at that point. No one is thinking about that. It's always the contributions of people from other countries. Just think about how many people lost their lives to being bombed or because something at a factory blew up while contributing weapons for the war effort. That last one got less coverage at the time in case it dampened spirits during the war. Many people, even women and I think children lost their lives then. Or think about the many lives lost during training before they landed for D-Day.
