Yes. I realize most people who see in a bad way tax payer money going to this kind of things is because they usually live in a country where the tax only goes to war or anything that is definetelly not for the citizens. So they have an overall anger about tax in general.
And yes, here in Brazil our public(and free) universities are the best.
