I'm surprised no one is talking about Saudi Arabia effectively ending the petrodollar by declining to renew that contact.
This event displaces the dollar as the world's preferred currency, IMO. it may take a few years to play out, but the US may have just lost its reserve currency status.
The west apparently doesn't know just yet.
