Fiat and depreciation of purchasing power led to this. Similar in Turkey. Rent is ridiculous, life is expensive, minimum wage is around $420 (a minimum wage earner can only buy 43 Big Macs a month in McDonalds Turkey) and 40+% earn minimum wage.
People are not incentivized to work to build up their lives. They are incentivized to waste time.
As 1 Bitcoin = 1 Bitcoin more and more people who are working and productive will start to save in #bitcoin. And the rest can live with their parents and collect their UBI’s.
So is Japan as well.
