Almost no one uses Zcash let alone shielded (doesn't exist on the darkweb either)
Zcash isnt "battle-tested" (outcome of point above)
Zcash is transitioning into Proof-of-Stake
Zcash is not technically fully open source
Vulnerable centralized corporation (Electric Coin Company)
20% dev tax on mining (Founders Reward)
Computationally expensive (Slow performance for shielded txs)
Not fungible (Same problem as Bitcoin, distinction between shielded vs unshielded)
Fixed supply (Same potential future security problem as Bitcoin)
IP addresses isn't hidden by default from other nodes on the network (No Dandelion)
Zcash community in general and in my experience is way more receptive to being compliant and changing things for regulators
That being said, their researchers have contributed a lot to privacy tech, and I'm not opposed to using z-2-z if you can find anyone who accepts it or pays with it. But goodluck with that. Let me know if you find anyone because I can't.
