Former Deputy Director of Moldova’s Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), 47-year-old Alexandru Bălan, was arrested today at Timișoara Traian Vuia International Airport in Romania on charges of treason. He is accused of selling Romanian state secrets and national security information to agents of the State Security Committee of Belarus.
