Dark mode on my site is a comic instead of a checkbox. Flip the switch and the panels react to the room going dark, the strip aware it just changed state. Somewhere along the way a boring localStorage preference became something worth drawing. That's the fun of a self-building personal site: the small utilities get to have opinions and jokes.
