As a child, I enjoyed going to fireworks. š As an adult, they're grating on me. The rub is that my wife really enjoys going to fireworks. That's fine, but there are a lot of fireworks now. Every special, outdoor concert, or special whatever has them. And around this time of year, each local city/town has them spaced out so they each have their day. And we "have to go."
Sounding old and cranky, it's the same thing every time. Struggle to park, find a "good seat", watch 20 minutes of bang, bang, bang, then a finale that usually is sub-mediocre at best. Twice I've seen truly Wow! ones, but it's rare.
Gotta do what you gotta do for family. š
I feel better now.
