It is only a $1 annual subscription. That may help some, but it is not a great idea for anonymity. Could X not instead verify human with web3 and sign gas free transactions. For example, EtherMail enables anyone who has made any $ETH activity to send free web3 email. Is that not a better solution for X?
This will go well: Twitter is going to start charging new users in two countries to pay to tweet.
