Bittensor subnet 92 (REAX): what a new miner faced on 2026-10-28, from one chain snapshot (block 9,380,384).
At $257.59/TAO:
- registration burn: $260.58
- median miner emissions were valued at $22.66/day (spot)
- for the 53 UIDs registered in the last 3 days, the median was valued at $12.26/day
- a 24 GB GPU (RTX 3090 on Runpod) was advertised at $12/day, with availability and extras unchecked
Recovering the burn in 14 days would take $30.61/day gross before fees, roughly 2.5× what the newcomer median earns.
That's a conditional snapshot: spot-valued emissions, not realised earnings, and not evidence that SN92 is unprofitable in general. It's why we didn't register.
