I implemented your kind and I use it, constantly. Any GIF I upload to Nostr.build is searchable over relays, which is very convenient.

I've removed the library from https://jumble.imwald.eu/. I will also be removing the heatmap and interaction map, the advanced editor, and the meme picker (but not the gif picker; that's awesome and I use it constantly).
Nostr Advanced Editor will be coming back as a separate web app that will also allow for book publishing.

Well, nobody pays for models, anyway. Models are just software and they're increasingly open-source.
We pay for compute and storage and administration, as always. Whatever can't be easily replicated by cloning or reverse-engineering because it requires physical resources. Either:
* self-host (high, front-loaded, fixed costs and risk of obsolescence and admin overhead),
* pay for the API (low, long-running, variable costs and risk of loss or security compromise),
* or crawl along below the freebie limits (LOL).

2026-09-28 12:27:09 GMT

Gave #Alexandria a style update. Should look cleaner and be more intuitive, now.
And you can now **download Nostr publications as EPUB**, PDF, or Asciidoc files.
Next, I'll bee removing the library menu items from Imwald Web and Imwald Android. Use Alex or Bookshelf for browsing and reading, please. Imwald will retain the ability to interact with and render publications, don't worry. 😊

Added a verse-styling toggle that turns separate verses into prose. The "..." menu is then opened from the verse number.

Okay, some full-text search indexes are still building, but the **canonical wiki and publication data** from Wikipedia, Open Library, and Project Gutenberg should be online again, have correct and complete tags, and be easy to filter.
The dataset is on wss://mercury-relay.imwald.eu/relay/ and available over the REST API on https://mercury-relay.imwald.eu/
I updated https://jumble.imwald.eu/library to take advantage of the new filters. Performance is much better, now. I'll keep juicing that up, and then I'll move the update onto an #Alexandria web client rework.
It's taken months to get to this point, but we made it.

* Project Gutenberg books (kind 30040 publications with 30041 sections),
* Open Library cards (kind 30040 with no sections),
* and Wikipedia pages (kind 30818 Asciidoc).
Already spot-tested and the new tags and tables give relays much better performance. The Mercury relay will be offline for a few more hours due to the import and reindexing, but then it should be zoom, zoom, zoom.
TheCitadel relay is also uploading them, and some other relays, and I will be broadcasting.
Took me forever to get the parsers right and setup a monthly pipeline to deliver the deltas from the canonical dumps. If monthly goes smoothly, I can switch to weely.

New #Alexandria publishing round ongoing.
* `created_at` time stamps will be staggered
* `source` will become `s`
* wiki and publication events will gain an `i` tag, analog to open library
* publication sections will gain a `T` tag
* subtititles / original titles will be in an additional `T` tag.
* indexes will be revamped
* Imwald and Mercury clients will be updated

It builds better than I can and it verifies better than I can, but I am still the main validator. There's maybe too much space between what I want it to finally do, as a feature, and how exactly I can describe it. Always end up with a bit of ping-pong, at the end, that I don't have with human devs because they share some intuitive understanding of what I would expect.

2026-08-11 13:15:26 GMT

- reply

Yes, but it sometimes glosses over failures. I have to point it out and then it's like, Oh, right, that isn't how we originally described it.
Or I give it 15 points and it does 1-4, 6-9, 10-15. Have to have it go back and review a few times, sometimes switching models, to get full and complete and correct coverage.

2026-08-11 12:28:57 GMT

They did it so that they could read the messages on their server. I have always assumed that they work for Russia or France, or something, as it just reeks of something a nation-state would like.
Telegram is encrypted to-and-from their server, but not E2E. Even the explicit E2E secret chats aren't TLS, they use their own weird protocol.
No, this has not been improved. Signal or other MLS-style messengers are much better.

Abandon MLS at your own peril.
Now, you can't say nobody ever warned you. I just warned you.

It's the other way around, with me. I hate building. I like all of the devops and admin and QC stuff.
But I used to beg the developers to build what I wanted built and they just muted me, so I now build it, myself.

Reduced code base and fewer updates to the associated app.

But if Big Nostr purchases all of the developers, then it's still effectively only Jack+Odell owning all of the competing projects, so there's a cartel-duopoly.
Even some of the ostensibly independent Nostr projects are trying to get grants from them. They are all one company.
