Thanks to help from jrm@ vpp is now in FreeBSD ports:

The port is based on the latest VPP release with two minor patches to enable DPDK that didn't make it through review before the release.

I did a pcb today and while I’ve minimal pcb design experience I can’t help thinking that the foot print and symbol libraries for kicad are a major weakness.
They are difficult to add from external sources and the default footprints have an absolute excess of silkscreen which can’t be removed without modifying the part.

Got an absolute deal on some small computers.
Not sure I’d recommend them, but I have read their entire datasheet while adding support for the intel soc in the gpd pocket
