@npub10nn…nthf Still waiting for the #flatpak and #fdroid versions but those sponsored (?) shortcuts presumably make connections to FB, Twitter, Reddit, etc without user interaction and choice upon startup...
I don't think privacy minded folks would appreciate them even being there and promoted :)
Perhaps you can replace them with better alternatives like Mastodon, privacyguides, fsf, etc.?

@npub1cf3…747f Good article but would be better if the writer mentioned clear pro and con list for each. Also list closed source as con for those that are. Also, #Nextcloud doesn't have #e2ee enabled by default and the separate encryption app isn't officially fully supported last I heard.

- Got a Pixel device & installed a #degoogled OS that comes with @npub1z2j…r69f and @npub1qml…mdus
- Told everyone: "Sorry, my phone doesn't have Whatsapp or even Play store. Please contact me on Signal."
- Sent Signal link
- Many friends and family now communicate with me on Signal.
Also, I'm a teacher and I require my classes to be on Signal, #Jitsi or #Matrix (no Zoom) so I have also onboarded many people that way.

#[0] Maybe best to have a simple onboarding processing with signup to the .social instance by default but have an advanced/customised setup for users who can handle the alleged complexity.
You know like those Windows program installers - except that "express setup" in this case won't install a bunch of spyware toolbars :)
