Each page is so immersive into financial concepts and human action, that I have to frequently pause, re-read, and really soak it in. Yes, I am an ardent Bitcoin fanatic. Yes, I have read The Bitcoin Standard. But this next volume by Saifedean strikes to the core of the cancer that affects decision making under the fiat standard. I cannot recommend this book strongly enough.

Excellent. Did the same. Completed my first 5 day fast just today. Though I was in a malaise during day 4 and 5, I felt like I could go longer. I certainly felt less inflammatory type pain, less stiffness. And another weird thing I noticed is that the normally present ear tinnitus was significantly less.

This is very literally my diet...UPSIDE DOWN. I eat 4-5 eggs every day, in copious amounts of butter. Beef, either steak or hamburger. Every. Day. Sometimes multiple times per day. The cascade of unintended consequences from corrupt fiat debasement infects so many areas of life. Shopping at Aldi today, my wife and I only bought a few items; steaks, bacon, shrimp, some fruit, cheese, dish soap, toilet paper, a few other kitchen items, and the total was $140. We wondered how other people are managing. Inflation will force people into unhealthy cheaper high calorie processed food choices, increasing obesity, increasing healthcare problems, increasing healthcare costs, etc. The deeply evil effects of monetary theft by debasing fiat currency cannot be understated.

I have learned that beach shark fishing success is similar to a batting average in baseball. If you land a shark .250 of the time, you are doing good. Lots of bait runs in the kayak. Lots of strike outs. But hey, it’s wonderful sitting on the beach with shark bait in the water.

The 1 year US Treasury is now above 5%. The growing interest expense as a percentage of the total government budget is going to be crippling. This is what a debt spiral looks like. Gonna have to print more to pay that higher coupon. Rinse & repeat.

Regarding East Palestine, Ohio; if my family was even close to the fall out, we are gone. Moving. I wouldn’t even care about the mortgage or the house, or my “credit”. My kids health is more important than my credit. I’m not saying this lightly. And that makes me wonder how many families are going to leave. It will crush the housing market in a huge swath of Ohio and surrounding areas. Could this credit event spark bigger delinquencies? A cascading event? I have to believe it will.

Gerson, great question. The one passage in the Bible that really blows my mind, regarding Bitcoin’s possible involvement, is Revelation 13:17, which talks about “you cannot buy or sell” without being in the state system. As bitcoiners, we see that control coming right around the corner, CBDCs. The author of Revelation, John, would have had no human capacity to understand how that kind of control could be done. Bitcoin gives people an escape from the tyranny mentioned in Rev 13:17. Truly amazing.
