If bitcoin is money, it can not also be data storage. Fees for a monitary settlement can not compete with fees that are paying for single file storage. They are totally different services. And miners are taking a fee and dumping the files on node runners at no additional cost to them. It's not pricing the same service. The storage service is not priced in at all. I agree to store monitary settlement data. Or data that looks just like monitary settlement data. But I won't be storing arb data.

BIP-110 is a restrictive soft fork, not a permissive hard fork. Once mandatory signaling begins, miners can set one bit and remain compatible with both legacy nodes and BIP-110 nodes, or refuse and knowingly mine blocks that thousands of enforcing nodes will reject. If miners are rational and profit motivated, risking their block reward to preserve a tiny amount of arbitrary-data fee revenue makes no economic sense.

BIP-110 is a restrictive soft-fork. Not a permissive hard-fork. Miners will capitulate as soon as activation is mandatory. Or loose ~20% of their revenue for roughly 2% of their current profit due to Arb data on chain. If they do that then Core would be the hard fork. Not BIP-110.
If miners are rational and profit motivated then they will rather loose 2% of their revenue rather than 20%.

I had an idea a few weeks ago while I was painting my brothers new house. The idea was, what if we abstract Nostr tech away from the user and focus on an experience that normies understand and already use, then transitioning them to use a Nostr application might be easier.
That idea has grown and developed into #bitlogin.

Fees alone will not solve the spam problem. Only layers of filters, restrictions and incentives + fees can. If bitcoin is going to be the world's money it's transaction fees must be competitive.
Saving a JPEG to the chain is not paying for the same service an a monitary settlement record.

I have Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2 working well. Testing Custom S3 buckets for Selfhosted Video with something like a Synology NAS + MinIO and I am also testing Blossom. Webtorrent/wedseed is a bit part of the vision for bitvid. So blossom was tricky since it doesn't support torrent files. I am testing publishing a torrent event associated with every publication.
