I’m Jonathan. I was born in Alabama, but I’m not really going to start there because I will do another story about my childhood and growing up in Alabama.
This story is more about my path professionally or career wise. The journey that I took to g![]()et where I am now. I will not discuss bitcoin or Nostr in this story either( because I will do separate stories for my orange pill and purple pill.
This story starts in high school for me. My junior year, or 11th grade. The year was like 2005 and I graduated in 2007 after summer school lol. But those couple years for me were awesome. My dad had just bought me a brand new z 71 pickup truck. I was 16, had a girlfriend that I had been with all throughout high school. I had an excellent group of real close buddies too.
All we did was hunting and fishing and life was soooo great. I played football but not varsity because I sucked I was a wide receiver that was not fast and could not catch…. If that says anything…
Well my girlfriend’s mom owned some horse stables and I worked a summer job for them up there breaking horses, guiding trail rides, cleaning stalls, feed and watering the horses… life was amazing
So my girls parents and my parents were also going through a divorce at the same time. One day I come home from school and my dad( fiat millionaire that made his money building homes) is all like yea so your girlfriend that you have been with for 4 years, now she’s is your step sister. My dad is all like I’m marrying her mom. So now my girlfriend/step sis is moving into the house. It was really weird. And as a young adult I felt like my dad had just destroyed my life. So I was looking for the first ticket the fuck out of town…
Then one of my buddies was talking to a recruiter. It didn’t take much convincing for me to be like ok, bet …
That was my chance to escape.
Did boot camp and school of infantry for the marines.
Loved the friends I made in the core. I was a saw gunner. The 249 squad automatic weapon.
Went out to 29 palms ca for pre deployment. We were fixing to leave for war in like a week but they let us go on leave. Pre deployment libo lol liberty haha
Anyways a couple guys from July platoon didn’t have family to go see or whatever and wanted to come party with me in bama before we shipped off to war
I was like 19 or 20 at this point. And we were ready to party like there was no tomorrow. Because literally we were about to go to fucking war. We had such a good time getting trashed and smoking weed and doing lines… we were untouchable and out of control
That week of leave came to an end and it was time to report back to duty. I’d be flying all over the country in my dress blues. We got back to base and surprise….. random drug test time. Right before we ship off to war, let’s make sure nobody smoked pot. Well of course I failed the piss test and didnt get to go on deployment.
They tried to give me a second chance even though it was a zero tolerance policy…. And I went awall, or ua, meaning unauthorized absence.
I abandoned my post.
My dad thought they gave us another week vacation but I had lied about that because I wanted to go on the family cruise to the Caribbean.
So did that then got back and turned myself in. Went to the military prison for a few months, then they kicked my ass out of the corps. Bad conduct discharge
BCD big chicken dinner as they joked…
So after that I turned to drugs and alcohol and chasing girls. Bouncing around from shit job to shit job.
By this time my now lesbian mother has moved to Texas. Me and one of my brothers followed her out there, and I got a job at Home Depot In the garden center. I busted ass at that job and eventually they promoted me to department manager. I was responsible for like 20 employees in the summer season…. It was like managing a business of my own. Ordering inventory, hiring/firing… profit and loss meetings…etc
I was moving up in the world. Going with the store manager to Dallas on Home Depot business lol
I thought I was big shit. But was only making like 12 bucks an hour. So one day I was at tractor supply and they needed a new assistant store manager. I applied and they offered to double my salary if I quit Home Depot.
So I went to tractor supply and started moving my way up from there. I was on the fast track to get my own store and be a store manager. Riding around with the district and even regional management team…
This is about 2014 now. And I kept my manager position at tractor supply but transferred from Texas back to Alabama and so I was there and went on a date with this girl.
It was a one time thing. We slept together… drunk and I never called her again. A month later she calls saying she’s pregnant but not sure who the dad is.
But probably me….
I payed 1,000 and she payed 1,000 from tax return money to get a dna test to find out if I was the father.
I didn’t wanna have to wait 9 months to find out so it was worth the money. I was the dad .
So I rented an apartment and we moved in together.
Had my first daughter in 2015. And things were going great until they weren’t. Eventually she got real bad on meth, and I lost my job at tractor supply for calling my 400 pound boss a bad word.
Shit was falling apart and then I got robbed at gun point at a gas station. This guy stole my truck. I couldn’t even claim it because I had fallen behind on my insurance bill so it wasn’t covered. That’s how my credit score started going down hill….
Anyway things were shit and I had to make money. Got a job through a temp service as a forklift operator
Eventually they hired me on full time. A stamping plant that made car part mostly for Mercedes Benz.
Did that for a little but the money wasn’t enough. They had an opening for apprenticeship. Where they put you through college and everything. So I applied.
Tons of testing. Like 5 interviews later I was in!!!!
So I did the whole apprenticeship(4 years)
2 working on stamping dies- where it starts out as sheet metal and stamped to form the part. Then the 2nd half ( the next 2 years was working on casting dies) high pressure aluminum die casting— it goes from Liquid Metal injected into the mold to form the part…
Graduated as a journeyman tool and die maker in Alabama. Then wanted to move back out to Texas again. I had to have help with child care. Because at this point I was a single dad. Working full time and had my daughter by myself since she was like 3 years old.
So after the apprenticeship in bama, move back to Texas so mom can help me with my daughter.
Got a gig at Husqyvarna plastics in Arkansas. Did that for about a year. Then they announced they were closing both plants and shipping everything overseas due to not being profitable…. Is what they said
Before the plant closed is when I met my wife. She started babysitting for me. And then we went out to a bar one night. And I asked her to move in with me on our first date. We are still together now and happily married (btw) and she has a daughter of her own. So now I have my wife my daughter and my other daughter!!!!
But basically they called thousands of workers in the room and said by the end of 2024 nobody will be working there anymore. They offered a severance package but you would have to stay and wait all the way until the end. I said screw that and updated my resume. Posted it to linked in. Stop smoking weed to clean out my piss, and within days I had like 30 companies wanting to do interviews.
I was torn between Tesla in Austin Texas or STIHL in Virginia Beach. They were both offering about the same pay( which was more than anywhere else)
So I left that decision up to the girls.
Obviously they picked the beach. And so they paid all the moving expenses and now we have been out here as a happy family living walking distance from the beach. Life is so good right now
Writing this was fun and I will do more stories. This one may have been slightly boring just mainly about jobs I’ve had and what led me to where I am now.
I wanna do a story on my child hood soon
As well as my orange pill story and my purple pill story

Ok most people think Elon musk is a smart person…
