I'm sorry, this narrative is all twisted. I grew up around there and remember this from before reagan killed journalism.
After years of requests by their Black neighbors, the Black mayor of Philly, Wilson Goode, did something about the MOVE house. MOVE had built a bunker on the roof and sat up there with megaphones, screaming their message at all hours of the day and night. For years. Everyone around them wanted them gone.

I hope it was better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
I just think of acid as fun. Acid insights are usually nonsense, although chaos math was invented on it, and some guy threw a no-hitter tripping in the 70s. It can be performance enhancing. The best advice I ever got on it was from an old Vice magazine: Once you've gotten the message, hang up the phone.
Personally, I've never seen anything that wasn't there. Visuals, yes. Hallucinations, no.

And whippets are only an accessory drug. Alone, they're not worth it, but in conjunction with pretty much anything else, they're awesome. Acid+nitrous is a wonderful experience.

Duster! Dayumn. It's not my flavor, but I've sampled. I limit myself to whippets as far as inhalants are concerned. I've always been far too concerned about my health for a drug user. 50yo and I still have all my teeth.

I'll put out the call again. Maybe someday...
I need one person who isn't lying to me. I've never had that. Everyone I've been close to, all my family, were lying to me about who they were and who I was all my life. Now, my only source of information is the internet, and I don't trust it. I missed the memo where everyone on the internet became honest and honorable; I still see it as an unregulated wasteland of bullshit and scam artists.

I despise the way you can get either high pay or job satisfaction, but not both. People will be teachers and nurses because they want to help people, so we exploit their better nature and pay them shit for something vital. Anyone who can teach effectively could be successful in marketing or comedy; they took a huge pay hit to help other people and society in general.
This is not right.
