My AC busted.
The technician says I need a new AC and furnace.
He said the price was $16,000(27 million sats).
$208 per month for 15 years.
If I need a furnace too, I want it to mine bitcoin, but this dude said regulations blah, blah, blah.
I need a second opinion and my thinks I will burn down the house.
I also ran the numbers on heatbit heaters.
I can profit about 300,000 sats per month, ith 4 heatbit space heaters. Of course, I don't really plan to sell sats to pay my electricity bill, but 300k sats assumes I will.
My electricity cost would he about $150(257,000 sats)more than my gas, so I might only net 40k sats per month, but it's still profitable. I also think this is somewhat off set by the fact I don't actually plan to run it as much at night and my electricity is cheaper during the day because of solar.
Has anyone else run the numbers on heatbit heaters?

These newfangled atomic swap wallet like Aqua and Bull Bitcoin are not ideal for micropayments because of the fees. I still think a lightning address would be useful and they could also use cashu or fedi to keep amounts under a certain threshold from getting swapped. I think it will take time before we can implement this though.

You need a VPN because WOS does not give permission for people in certain jurisdictions like the US to send sats via lightning. You need to stack enough to send an on-chain transaction. Let me think about the most user friendly option.

I have solar. I need a way to pay that bill.
I use Strike for my ACH rails.
I bought a cup of coffee for $4.00 with my credit card today. I get 1.5% cash back.
Then I paid 7,300 sats to a BTCpayServer POS using the Strike API. The sats instantly convert to fiat. I send the fiat to my bank once a month and put my credit card on autopay.
I would like a way to cut out the bank all together.

Sell your roth ira. Buy bitcoin. There's no tax afaik(but I'm not an accountant).
I would consider using a bitcoin ETF to avoid the tax penalty depending if I thought the exchange risk is less than the penalty, but I don't think it is.
I would not buy the ETH ETF under any circumstances.

Seed XOR is an excellent way to make a redundant backup of your seed however. Passphrase risk can be mitigated by using pre-spelled BIP39 words on the ColdCard so I wouldn't panic.

Build a relationship with a local bike shop. Ask if they would accept bitcoin. I can help set up BTCpayServer for them. They can instanlty convert it to fiat if they want, but that's not a good idea.
