Last Notes npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer It's probably more likely 99% / 1% / 0.1% 😉 - But I agree with the premise npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer You can just marry and procreate and stuff npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer More on borrowing and lending. More wholesome and winsome conversation. Less swearing. Less ridicule over petty things. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Reading a great book right now on the danger of social media for kids. "The Tech Exit". Really eye opening. Most parents think simply limiting screen time is the solution. It's not. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Ok, sounds like a good deal! npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Shoutout to @nprofile…7k5h, one of the highest signal follows out here. I appreciate you sir! npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer My doctor told me to stop eating eggs daily to get my cholesterol down. Also told me to stop eating bacon. I went home and promptly consumed eggs and bacon. Am I doing it right? npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer This is shocking #nevent1q…tywc npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Here's an idea I'd be interested in getting feedback on: A true bitcoin-denominated lending and borrowing platform that is only denominated in BTC terms (completely ignores fiat price): For example: - Lender posts BTC available for loan on a platform, and specifies loan terms (e.g. 1 month, 3 months, 1 year, 2 years, etc.). Lender specifies the BTC-denominated interest rate. Example: Could be a 1 year loan, at 2% (fiat price irrelevant). Or could also be open-ended loan with no end date, but allow lender to call the loan after certain period of time (for example). Idea is that loan terms are configurable. - Borrower accepts BTC loan by posting their own collateral, which includes the BTC loan value + the required interest payments based on loan terms. Example: For a 1 year loan of 1 BTC at 2%, borrower's collateral would be at minimum 1.02 BTC. - Interest would accrue from the borrower's BTC to the lender over the loan term according to the agreement. E.g. could be daily, weekly, monthly. - At end of loan period, borrower can repay the loan + interest, or have the platform pay using posted collateral. Or, loan can be extended. Benefits are: - True Bitcoin Yield, guaranteed to Lender based on posted collateral - Available BTC denominated loans to Borrower without having to sell their own BTC (i.e., no capital gains taxable event) - No liquidation risk based on fiat price. 1 BTC = 1 BTC (and for the lender, 1 BTC + loan term = 1 BTC + BTC interest) Use cases I can imagine: - Funding Start-Ups: The NgU Tech has done it's work, and now it's time to quit your job and start something new and profitable. But you don't want to sell your BTC to do it and face those taxes! Instead, you use your own BTC as collateral to take a BTC denominated loan. Now when you sell to fund, your cost basis is the price you borrowed at. - You're a humble sat stacking pleb who has saved in BTC for years, and have reached "escape velociity". It's time to live on BTC through loans to accelerate this golden BTC age. So instead of selling your own BTC, you take a small portion of your stack, post as collateral, receive your BTC loan, sell the loan, buy ETFs, borrow against ETFs (in fiat terms) through your TradFi account.... rinse and repeat. Eventually, as BTC appreciates, you can pay off your BTC loan fully as your TradFi assets are sufficient to live off of. And you did it without selling your BTC, only paying interest. - You're an OG BTC whale. You put your stack to work without selling, and earn a passive income stream. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer LOVE this.... These are truths very much aligned with some of the core teachings of Christianity. The paradox is that "it is more blessed to give than it is to receive." The world says, "love yourself", but Jesus says, "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends". npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Tell me about it! Appreciate the products you guys are putting out there - I am hoping the ability to borrow against BTC in Canada gets more options soon, considering figuring out how to start my own venture in that. Right now Ledn is about the only show in town. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Dear Mr. @nprofile…6dtc - there are a lot of Canadians that would absolutely love to use Strike. Any timeline on entering the Canadian market? I'm just a humble sat stacker here with an engineering background, and I would seriously quit my job to help make it happen. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Bitcoin doesn't care. MSTR could own 50% of the supply and still wouldn't have any more influence on the network than it currently does. In the interim, the arbitrage opportunity to accumulate BTC using the fiat capital markets is inevitable. Saylor just pioneered it, but it was bound to happen. Hard money wins. I don't understand why so many bitcoiners get so rattled over this, Saylor is literally building a bridge between BTC and trillions of fiat - that is good for bitcoiners unless you have something against NgU. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer There is one great, indisputable piece of evidence for how evil humans really are: It took Jesus dying to save us. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer This is a risk I am quite comfortable taking. What do you recommend doing to prepare for this eventuality sir? npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Such a naïve take. Jesus also said: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Sounds pretty exclusive to me. The view that all religions are basically the same is in itself as dogmatic a claim as any of the religious claims any of the individual religions make themselves. It's illogical - they are either all wrong, or all but one is wrong. But they can't be all right. 2+2 is not 4 and 5. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Wait, Ottawa? Is there still hope for Canada? haha Amazing to hear! npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer They actually are. So are lakes and rocks 😎. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Are fees paid via onchain BTC or lightning? npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Now THAT is cool! npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Cool - I'll have to check you guys out. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Oops replied to the wrong comment. https://primal.net/e/nevent1qqsdqx0xaunzczxy2nm5hlmzvl2k8r3y5wgszp85w2ms44y9exwwmccvwx8ms npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Yes taxed personally I believe, unless you are purchasing withing a business. Fairly certain taxed as any other capital gains investment if you simply bought and then sold. But last I checked they consider mining bitcoin as revenue so I guess it depends how you obtained it. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Moral money begets moral development... All about incentives npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Yea what happened? npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer 🍻 npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Followed! npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Ah, of course. Haven't been on Nostr in a while, forgot about that one! hah npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Congrats npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer What do you mean by purple-pilling someone? That's not clear to me. But to answer your question, it's really not possible to purple/red/blue/orange pill anyone with a single article. It's the accumulation of all life experience and knowledge that shapes our outlook. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Hello everyone, I'm re-entering the world of Nostr.... Excited to have set up my @nprofile…fy4z Hub via @nprofile…fu08! Very cool tech that is very easy to use! Wanted to say thank you to @nprofile…zx3h and @nprofile…l2yj for talking about these tools on RHR. I'm looking forward to learning more, and hopefully beginning to contribute to the space in some meaningful ways. It's amazing how the incentives of bitcoin align. I've only held bitcoin for a few years, but already, because of the NgU Technology, I am incentivized to build on it. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer After this bull market, that lifeboat is gonna be a lot bigger!! 🫡 #nevent1q…7ke6 npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer https://globalnews.ca/news/10162421/canada-cattle-methane-emissions/ Canada is INSANE!!!!! We are now incentivizing farmers to feed their livestock GARBAGE so that they BURP less! Not only will this do absolutely nothing to reduce methane emissions, it will also have 100 other unintended consequences. Broken incentives from a broken monetary system. Wen hyperbitcoinization? #bitcoin #cows #farming #methane npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Work is defined as force applied over a distance. Whenever work is done, energy is consumed. Therefore work is simply the consumption of energy in a valuable way. Any intervention that attempts to limit the use of energy as a primary goal is fundamentally anti-work. Think how suicidal it is to tax energy usage. It is essentially a war on work. Work is energy consumed to produce value. A war on work will simply accelerate the downfall of the American empire by penalizing those who use energy to produce value. It won't hurt Bitcoin, which will move elsewhere. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer 30% tax means major exodus of mining from the US to other jurisdictions, AND major expansion of decentralized off-grid power sources. Bullish for Bitcoin long-term, and energy production. Might see hashrate drop in the short term though. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Bitcoin is such a revolutionary technology that those who discover it are in some ways changed by it. It reverses the incentive structures of life. It prompts you to work harder, but with an eye to the future instead of the present. It gives a sense of hope. There is a temptation to "worship" Bitcoin because of these facts. Sure, we won't call it worship, but what exactly is worship anyway? It's not bowing down before something - in fact, you can do just that and still NOT worship what you bow down before if it's disingenuous. Worship is ascribing ultimate worth to something or someone. If you ascribe ultimate worth to Bitcoin, then you worship it. Bitcoin will never solve the main problem of humanity: the human heart. Out of the heart comes all the evil that plagues the world, and no monetary system will fix that. In a hyperbitcoinized world, the human heart will find novel ways to commit evil. Bitcoin is good, but it is not God, and cannot change the human heart. So don't worship Bitcoin - embrace it as a good for humanity. Worship God, who alone can save us from ourselves. "For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks" npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer #[2] npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer #Bitcoin allows all kinds of opportunities for energy generation that was previously unprofitable. I'm exploring opportunities to build reliable and cost effective energy sources that are currently untapped. If you are in Ontario and have any ideas I'd love to collaborate. #[0] npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer I'm bullish on Bitcoin because it is fundamentally fair. It ties value to work. Work is fundamentally the creation of value. Money that is not created by work dilutes the value of all other work and concentrates that value into the hands of the money creators - a form of theft. And since all who work for a living are incentivized to protect from theft, widespread Bitcoin adoption is inevitable. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer When I first heard about Bitcoin, and how people claimed it could solve all these massive human problems, I'll admit I dismissed it as almost a cult. But having gone down the rabbit hole now for a few years, it's just mindblowing how many of the problems in the world are, in part, causes by corrupted money. It won't solve the fallen human condition but it will stop incentivizing theft and exploitation in so many ways, as far as I can tell. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Do you mean the language of bitcoin as in the concept of money or literally the coding language? I've been going down the rabbit hole for a few years now. It's definitely a paradigm shift in thinking. In my case though, I still find the macro stuff more confusing. npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Hey #[0] #[1] I'm a fellow Canadian - in the GTA. New to Nostr. I'm wondering if you know of Bitcoiners with connections to the energy industry, specifically small scale hydro. Im exploring the possibility of doing some small scale mining with a mutually beneficial business model of consuming off-peak power only. Thanks, appreciate you guys and the work you're doing for the Bitcoin space 👊 npub1tvexp0qxlr5kke9gcqhrwwz3yhv9g7wksxasxqn99dagzlps0f0qq2tlw3 realBitgineer Hey #Nostr Fam! First post here. Want to start talking about parallels between Bitcoin and reality. Here's a starter: #Bitcoin's block reward scheme is like the passage of time. As you get older, the relative passage of a "block" of time becomes increasingly less in relation to the existing "supply", similar to the Bitcoin halving schedule! A bit of a stretch I know 😂.
