The sound of the surf is serene! Very cool opportunity to capture the shipwrecked sailboat! Was the owner able to recover it or did the city have to destroy and haul away? Had a shipwreck several years ago not too far away that the owner could not recover it due to cost so the city hauled it away in pieces.

Gald to hear that you didn't have to deal with flooding and the farm animals are on high ground. We got some flooding in our neighborhood - not great in that the main street out had a clogged drain and water backed up. Grass is finally happy and green and dry fire hazard conditions for the county has disappeared so there are pluses to go with minuses. Looking forward to some sunshine.

Ha, have not heard about that movement to intentionally create work to muck the AI system. I had thought about only showing half the work in two separate posts (like those picture puzzles that you swipe to see it) to stick it to AI programs but that would also have the consequence of annoying some of my audience even if they are sympathetic to why I did it. Anyway, hope you are staying dry with all the recent rains. Have had some flooding here.

Bottom line one can take two approaches. I am glad you have a plan in that you actively pursue infringements when they are found. I have had copyright lawyers win some cases for me. Admittingly I have not been as prolific in marketing and SM until recently so I do have the 'opportunity' to limit what Zuck is planning to do with AI on his platforms. My approach is front end I am NOT going to make it easy to just 'take' my work without permission. Thus Glaze/Nightshade. (1 of 2)

Not to mention that on my 5 year old computer it takes 75 minutes to do just one 900 x 600 ad image for use on showing my work on Social Media. And that is on the Medium Default setting. I was going to start on highest setting but it would have taken 160 minutes. It is very CPU intensive - may not be that time intensive for newer computers.

No I would not apply it to print worthy images. Meta is planning to use AI training on Public (underline that - it could always change to private posts) Posts on their platform. Their reasoning is that you use our platform we can use your work to train our AI. Thus any ad images you post to advertise your work on Meta's platforms is fair game in their book. Thus if you are going to post new advertising images of your work on Meta's platform it's a good idea to Glaze it.

Understood. With that many works out there in so many SM platforms it would be a monumental task to pull and protect them with Glaze/Nightshade tools. Unfortunately that is what the big tech companies are banking on that many artists will wait for the courts glacial pace to decide while they rake in the profits from what they say is Fair Use on copyrighted works. The haze and warm golden light invoke the idea that this is a memory or a bit of nostalgia for a time that has passed. The composition makes me think of the roads we all travel and that the journey is the destination. Wonderful capture!

Good Monday Morning! I will be taking a break from posting anything new until after the 17th. Taking that time to protect my work/limit my digital footprint since Meta has announced anything on its public platform will be used to train their AI. This is NOT ok. Glaze and Nightshade are one way to protect your works going forward; but it is slow going. While I am doing that, I will take some time to visit other's galleries, promote others and/or just chat.

Love the play of light and shadow here! Great eye to spot this moment - there is a mood of mystery. The chairs sit unused between the darkness and the light. The wood grain of the desk is partially illuminated. I see scratches/etching in the wood making me wonder what important message or thing the person who did it wanted to say.

Sometimes it is not about the sharpness of the photo image but the mood, light & movement capturing a fleeting moment in time. This photo impressionism technique shot makes me think of the line - 'the woods are lovely, dark, and deep' from Frost's poem. Over 800+ photos taken only 2 have ever yielded a photo impression gem.

Thank you Steve - that morning was very serene as the sun rose. I was very happy to 'see' the dragon head/lizard head rock. I went back over a year ago and was shocked to see that it was mostly buried by the sand - I guess they either resanded the beach or sand washing ashore has built up or perhaps both. Nature is always changing so the beauty we see 'one' day changes the next.

I went to that little island location in the glades that has a rookery of cattle egret and tri-colored herons. Near to the island rookery are bushes with plant-life that bloomed some very pretty flowers. This tri-colored heron that was hunting in the foliage nearby. I took a few photos as I watched it slowly move to catch a fish.

A relaxing day is walking with bare feet in the sand towards the cool water of the ocean. The stairs of this blue and orange lifeguard tower leads down to the sandy beach and if you look closely, you can see a parasailer and a sailboat off in the distance.

You are correct - it is the Everglades :-) I caught this moment as we were leaving the Park and noticed the clouds. Stopped at the side to take a photo and glad I did because there was a 'strip' of light that illuminated the grass (seen as the lighter color) for a few seconds then was gone. Stayed for a few minutes to see if I could catch another moment like that but it didn't manifest.

Bright & bold the yellow petals flare out from the daisy like rays of the sun. Back in 2013 for DPChallenge's weekly photo challenge I thought a flower with flying petals would do nicely for Burst of Color.
The petals are NOT photoshopped in. The petals are hanging there in the set-up. It was not easy for it was very delicate work.

Thank you! It is a really cool spot to walk around and just zen out. Just to get a sense of size - a person who is 4 feet or less in size can stand under that tree with the exposed roots. There were two kids that were exploring the underside of it.
