Using the new onScrollTargetVisibilityChange #SwiftUI API on iOS 18, here is how I would do an infinitely scrolling view of content. It's actually very elegant to how I was doing it previously.

Pin people at the top of your timeline (like Instagram stories, etc..), and whenever you refresh your timeline, you can tap on their pictures to see their most recent posts in your timeline context. You can also see their posts only, for example.

It's funny how I often feel incredibly uncomfortable here because I can’t really talk about generative AI, OpenAI stuff, innovation etc… because some of the crowd is just toxic about it.
Even on X, you don’t get that kind of people flaming in your mentions because they think they’re on such a high horse.
I can have whatever opinion I want and you need to calm down.
Get over it. Generative AI is here to stay and so many workflow and tools will get improved because of it.

So @npub1cn7…45r0 had the great idea to have quick access pills to switch timelines in @npub1rk3…43sg I think I like it. The idea is that you could pin any top menu filter (like lists) on the home tab to quickly access it without opening the menu.

I wonder if we have papers about how much an AI like ChatGPT can reduce informational entropy vs. how much thermodynamic entropy its data center emits. Also the ratio of between the raw informational entropy needed for a model vs the entropy its creating in the final output.

@npub1jc6…7v67 So if the position is way down, it'll just fetch the newest 800 statuses, and you'll not be able to read anything in between. It has always been like that, and using the marker API does not change that. From what I know, only @npub1rky…0xq2 actually background fetch statuses all the time so they tend to get fewer holes for big timelines.
