The IOC has stated transgender athletes have never been a problem in competition and that HRT doesn't even factor into their rules. (It may now, but historically, not an issue.)
Past athletes who are trans have not sought competition after HRT for various health reasons. Those few who do haven't had dramatically different results than cisgender athletes of either sex. (For every Lia Thomas there's a Caster Semenya. So what?)
And in the US, obtaining permission for HRT has enough hurdles that people have a shot at being rejected for physical or mental health issues they need to address first to avoid detransition. (Winning medals would be one of them.)
So, is the issue that there's swaths of people seeking HRT for false valor at sports? You can fix that whenever. Or is the issue that a political movement wants these people not to exist? Because that is a bigger issue that should scare all of us.
