Religion is a big and complex topic. For starters, even defining the world religion is hard. So you have to start with a working definition and go from there.
One helpful way to understand religions (sorry, not enough time to define it), is that they typically start from an identification that life is unsatisfactory, and/or meaningless, and then identify some sort of solution, or salvation. Along the way they also try to answer fundamental questions of life like, who am I? Who are you? and What is this word?
For example, some Christians could be said to identify the suffering of life as being due to selfishness and disobedience to God, which results in suffering and ultimately, death. So the solution is having faith that Jesus fixed all that, resulting in an eternal life free of suffering.
Conversely, some Buddhists could be said to identify that eternal life is our problem, that is, we experience the samsara cycle of endless birth, life (of suffering, unsatisfactoriness, meaninglessness), death and rebirth. So salvation is in a sense achieved through escaping this eternal life through mediation and non attachment to your idea of the self - so you have to 'die' in a sense - so the complete opposite in some sense to Christianity! They start with the same problems but go off in completely different directions for solutions.
This is a very broad generalization and the main religions have enormous disagreements and divergent thinking amongst them. But I just try to give the jist of things.
And also, they are a great tool to oppress or liberate people depending on the personalities of adherents, especially the rulers (that German guy around the time of WW2 loved it, and cobbled together his own). This is why you can meet both really great and really awful people involved in all kinds of religion. Very powerful ideology. And if you're not careful, it's easy to hurt yourself and others. Beware!

A key common element of religious cults (or new religious movements if you prefer) is that, while they may not be correct, they are definitely not unsure! It's sad that mainstream society is not immune from this thinking either.
Indeed, most people find appealing the claims of people being able to identify life's problems and therefore, its solutions. Sales, politics, religion, bitcoin.
Buddha think realized this. A major source of people's (society's) suffering is the clinging to and identifying with, delusions. Salvation = letting go of it all, holding all these ideas, including ideas about who you really are, and the nature of reality, as practical working ideas/hypotheses, rather than objective truths about reality.

Healthcare.
Cuba has one of the lowest costs per capita health care in the world, with top outcomes (ie one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world, which is a key indicator of population health). In comparison, USA has the highest cost per capita in the world with some of the lowest outcomes (eg infant mortality rates).
Britain had a great National Health Care Service until it was gutted by corporations (probably USA ones, but don't quote me. lol. As if anyone would quote me).
Why is Cuba so successful? USA government sanctions that impoverish Cuba. So, ironically, you could argue the USA gov is responsible for the good health of Cubans.
And violence.
Governments have made better violence, directed at domestic and foreign actors, better than the private sector, or DIY (Do It Yourself). You would of course have to believe violence was a good thing, which most people do, many without realizing it.
It's interesting to investigate the living conditions in so called failed states (often brought about by other governments). Ultra violence with zero accountability. Compared to those conditions, normal governments could be said to do things better (more principled violence). But I think it's an unfair comparison - because the people in those failed states have been so damaged psychologically by the violence.
Perhaps an interesting example is El Salvador? A history of gang violence, created by USA government. I think you could say El Salvador now, through their use of violence has made things A LOT better than before. By all accounts the people are so much happier and freer - the majority of the population has been freed from their 'open prison'.
Perhaps it is better to see governments as bringing both benefits and drawbacks? Analogous to technology? Eg, the internet/computers/phones etc. - has potential for freedom, but in most cases, is a tool for enslavement and oppression? Remain ambivalent towards governments?

As you train, remoteness can help, but monasteries can also full of things you don't like, because you can't run away from your own thoughts. So, making a remote retreat in your daily life, eg, silent 45min meditation early in the morning before others awake, can work very well.

Barrier to entry is more equitable (lower) for bitcoin than for real estate too.
Poor young people can't save fast enough for a deposit for a home. Rich kids get given a deposit from their parents.
For bitcoin, all you need is to save a few dollars, and you can buy some premium quality bitcoin - you're off to the races!

Compared to real estate the value of bitcoin is equitable.
Rich people buy the best real estate which typically maintains or increases its value more that real estate in poorer less or undesirable areas.
This results in situations where desirable property might increase 20%/annum whereas undesirable property increases by 1%/annum.
In contrast, all bitcoin increases/decreases at the same rate - the rich don't get to buy better quality more desirable bitcoin.
This is just one way bitcoin is more equitable than fiat. The lack of cantillion effect advantage is another.
And of course, the course appears to claim it's more equitable, not equitable.

Peace and freedom? Plenty of evidence showing American military/CIA is used to terrorize other counties, killing, overthrowing democratically elected governments (like Chili for example), in order to extract resources and minerals (see Confessions of an Economic Hitman).
The author seems to be humming the American national anthem whilst writing. No mention is made of the tyranny being built for Americans, by Americans. No mention of the class war. It's all projected, Freudian style, onto the CCP.
It seems to arrogantly state how America leads in chip manufacture and research over China, which to my understanding is just not the case (check for a recent video interview of a Taiwanese silicon chip lead researcher stating how China has gone from high-school standard junk papers to leading the world in which others, including himself, can't even compete).
