1. We are visiting Slimbridge tomorrow and hoping to see Bewick swans.
2. Cups of tea.
3. Had some spare time so did a large area of the jigsaw puzzle started at Christmas. It may be finished by Easter.

There was so much colour in that bank - even though it's Winter! It was worth getting wet for, the rain seemed to revive colours in the dormant and the dying vegetation.

1. I have sorted out some obsolete items and arranged a large item collection.
2. A barn owl was quartering our field late this afternoon. This is the first time that we've seen one here. Tawny owls are always about, but not barn owls. This is really exciting.
3. Burn's night. Vegan haggis for lunch, with neeps and tatties of course.

Thank you! He wishes his birthday was in summer, winter is too wet and windy for a trip to a bird reserve or a long walk. I said that he needs 2 birthdays, the real one and one in better weather.

1. My husband's birthday today. So more cake!
2. I have had real success on the phone. Two workmen fixed to come and do jobs. Large item collection booked. Usually trying to contact folks for maintenance jobs is difficult, but today all answered the phone and were ready to book slots.
3. No damage to house by storm Isha. We were lucky that the hills sheltered us.

1. Local floods have almost gone. So shouldn't be a problem for getting to hospital tomorrow.
2. Will have long awaited procedure tomorrow.
3. Just eaten my favourite vegan lasagne, as tomorrow I can't eat in the morning.

Lockdown was fine, covid was far worse. My cousin died of covid in 2020, and another cousin is left with major organ damage after covid. The other cousin only caught it last Autumn, the pandemic is definitely not over, and no one is wearing masks, distancing, and many have not been vaccinated.

Yes it's the same cat. He's settled really well, he never had any doubts about moving in! I tried to send a photo of him last night, but it wouldn't send. I'll have another go!

2. Grey cat has a relaxing life now, it was not always that way. Evidence of past fights, during his time as a stray, shows on his ears.

1. Spoke to a friend on the phone. She is over 80 and likes a regular chat. She doesn't use a computer, so phone calls are important for her.

1. Garden work nearly done. You can reach the figs on the fig tree now. A new maple tree planted, we are looking forward to seeing it in leaf next year.
2. Spring bulbs are beginning to shoot (a bit early though, I don't usually see them until late January).
3. A few long tailed tits on the feeder.

1. Prickly, spiky hedges have been cut down to a manageable level. I don't feel so hemmed in now, and I can see up the hill, so I can watch for deer with binoculars from the living room. A real luxury!
2. Got some onion sets ordered. Pesky mice have been digging my Winter ones up and eating them, but I'm not giving up.
3. Tomorrow the new maple tree will be planted where the giant Berberis stood, another prickly one gone today.

1. The workmen arrive tomorrow to help with mine and my neighbour's prickly hedge problems.
2. Grey cat seems to be becoming an indoor cat after a recent illness. Fluffy dog is happy with the situation. The cat was scared of the vacuum cleaner and my dog went over to lick him. Grey cat would never stay indoors, he was petrified, now it's ok.
3. The squirrels were chasing each other round and round a tree trunk. They never seem to tire of play.

1. Grey cat has agreed to sleep indoors. He has been injured in a fight with a stray and the Vet wants him to rest indoors. He has always been terrified of indoors, but so far so good. Fluffy dog is avoiding him.
2. It was a bit drier today with a little sunshine.
3. I made cashew and coconut curry.

I bought a range of pâté type foods for her. Her bowl was clean after lunch. She weighed 3.7kg at the Vet's so I'm hoping, with extra food, that by the time she has her bloods taken, she will have gained. The grey boy is over 5kg, he is a big personality, he loves to use our PV panel as slides down the roof. Think he got his tail caught early morning. He is adventurous!

1. Two cats to the Vet's today. Vet report on 18 year old brindle cat better than expected. She just needs to eat softer food and have a blood test in a month or so. 8 year old grey cat has a floppy tail, Vet said he has pulled a ligament in his tail, nothing broken or dislocated, but he cannot do his lemur impersonations for a day or two. So both ok, but they worried their owner for a while.
2. Sunny but not too hot.
3. Russet apples are ready to pick.

1. Used one of the patty pan squashes, picked yesterday, for lunch today. I stuffed it with beans, onion, tomatoes, spices and herbs.
2. Cats all avoided today's heavy showers, they decided it was a comfy bed day.
3. Some sunny intervals forecast for tomorrow, a chance for a walk in the Welsh hills.
