Last Notes npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Thanks. To be fair: The reason the LightSpark's API (as used by Primal, WoS, others) is sometimes quite slow and unstable is because LightSpark has to deal with all the complexity of Lightning... ON TOP of all the complexity of their proprietary API/platform. So when you have a problem with LightSpark, it could be Lightning, it could be their platoform, or it could be the interaction between Lightning and their platform. ;) Rizful is more reliable and much lower latency because we're 100% focused on Lightning and haven't attempted to build an enormous sand castle on top of Lightning.... and also because we run one the biggest routing nodes on the network, so we can be laser-focused on Lightning relability. That said, LightSpark is doing what they are doing for fairly good reasons -- and it might be worthwhile for some users to put up with the problems in return for what LightSpark is offering..... npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com https://docs.megalithic.me/BLFS/getting-started/ npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com We recommend getalby.com and rizful.com -- we don't recommend Spark wallets due to privacy & centralization concerns. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Yes, we are pushing new users to the free version by default... getting to the paid version requires a couple clicks.. but the free version is accessible from the big blue button on the home page: https://image.nostr.build/8f1488b973980eb940e5c959f4e1dd71dc0a72e78b8cc4dd764436c4a571b7d4.png npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com @nprofile…pt5w let us know if we can help you test in some way. Also, FYI, there are two versions of Rizful -- a "paid" version, where you get your own Lightning node, and a "free" version, if you don't. Any testing you do should be done with the "free" version because that NWC service provided by the "free" version is actually superior in some subtle ways to the NWC service provided by the paid version. To launch a "free" Rizful instance, just make a Rizful "vault". thanks. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com OK thanks for this. So you received a zap, but you did not see a zap receipt. Do you know which nostr application and wallet the sender of the zap used? We will need to try to reproduce the issue. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com yes if your internet is down or unstable you can see that. refrsh the page. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com If you contact us on chat we can nail down what is going on - https://megalithic.me/contact Or you could provide answers to these. 1. Were you trying to zap someone, or was someone trying to zap you? 2. What address was being zapped? 3. What behavior did you expect to see, but not see? 4. What does "the zap receipt" mean here? 5. What does "OG note" mean here? 6. LSPs like Megalith do a huge amount of the routing activity. And there are dozens of small and independent players like Rizful. Also, since Lightning is private, nobody can really tell you where the traffic actually is….. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com What error are you seeing? As I remember Amethyst possibly made a update such that when users are using Tor, then NWC connections no longer work? npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com I am guessing this is the new Primal wallet which uses LightSpark's API? Please provide the lightning address so we can run some tests. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Those of us who are predicting an extended bear market in bitcoin might be underestimating the impact of millions of normies having ETF access to bitcoin in their brokerage accounts. A huge percentage of all the wealth in the world is in American brokerage accounts. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com This was our thought too, and why Rizful.com doesn't support login with nsec. Protecting money with the same code that you use to log into Nostr apps seems like a bad idea... npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com @nprofile…twc2 @nprofile…tn6q pasting images from mac os clipboard into yakihonne web seems to be broken npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Thanks. Totally understand why you want to do this. Did some reviewing.... I think it might be time for these application to step up and support Lightning addresses. Adding Keysend to Rizful will be a big project, and any big project in Bitcoin comes with risks.... Keysend was never really ratified as a Lightning standard and it's best for many reasons to encourage Lightning addresses instead of keysend.... sorry... npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com We need to be honest and recognize that many confused normies insist on paying with stablecoins... here is a proposal for a way that any online merchants can "accept stablecoins" but those payments always "settle in Bitcoin": https://docs.megalithic.me/rizful-tips-and-tricks/accept-crypto-on-your-website-for-free-no-kyc/ npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Good point. SENDING would be much safer and easier to implement. I want to study CoinOs' implementation first. I just checked the CoinOs web interface, and I don't yet see a way to send a keysend using that... so maybe it is NWC only? In that case.. can you recommend which applications that users would typically be using to send these keysend payments (presumably they have NWC support?) npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Sorry, didn't respond to that yet. The issue is that Keysend really is designed to "send a payment to a lightning node". It works great with our paid service, where everyone gets their own lightning node... and also with Alby Cloud, which we recommend highly. To try to use it with a "shared node" setup like with the free version of Rizful -- I think it's just too risky. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com I don’t get it npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Note for users of the new Primal wallet: The new wallet denoted as "self-custodial" by Primal uses Spark. Spark is an API provided by the Los Angeles company LightSpark. ( https://www.lightspark.com/ ) LightSpark is a competitor to Megalith & Rizful, so we're generally committed to keeping our mouth shut with regard to LightSpark's overall merits. But: everyone should know that LightSpark payments over the Lightning network can have significant LATENCY...... LightSpark is doing quite a lot of complicated stuff "on top" of the Lightning network. If, for example, you were using the previous Primal wallet (provided by Strike), you might have been able to zap a user and get a confirmation of successful zap within 1 to 2 seconds. Using LightSpark's API, by contrast, our tests indicate that a zap confirmation can take upwards of 10 seconds. (TEN SECONDS!) We're bringing this up because we're seeing a lot of "I can't zap" complaints recently. If you're having problems, check your lightning address service -- if it's run by LightSpark -- in this includes many wallets marketed as "self-custodial", such as Breez, Wallet Of Satoshi, Primal, and others.... it might be that you CAN zap and zaps DO work, but that you're just not used to waiting 10 seconds for a confirmation, so you're giving up and closing out of the zap attempt early.... npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Would be happy to do some invoice tests if you can contact us privately: https://megalithic.me/contact npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Happy to help - if you ever get in a situation like this, please ping @npub1jlu…p2kq in your note so we can be sure to see it. We'd be happy to troubleshoot this if you contact us so we can do some invoice test: https://megalithic.me/contact In our experience, there can be challenges if you try to rely on ACINQ as a routing node. ACINQ should be reliable for reaching Phoenix wallet users, but I would not necessarily rely on ACINQ to route outbound payments to elsewhere on the Lightning network. Same with WOS -- if you run your own node, channels with WOS or ACINQ will be most useful to reach users of those services. If you want reliable routing to the whole network, I'd suggest a node that is really optimized for reachability -- for example -- Megalith, Megalith LSP, Megalith Small Channels, Zeus, Ln.Server, Cyberdyne.sh... and lots of others. The other thing is that Lightning is really is an always-on protocol. If you are running a node behind Tor or behind a flaky internet connection -- or both -- you can expect in some circumstances to have stuck HTLCs. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Can you try a controlled test, where you try zapping a few different kinds of lightning addresses? Like an @rizful address, a @primal.net address.. etc? npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Hi, happy to help diagnose. First step.. have you tried Yakihonne, using the Rizful NWC string in Yakihonne? npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com A representative from Rizful & Megalithic.me will be at the the BTC conference in Vegas this week, possibly only for Tuesday. DM on Signal or Telegram if you want to meet up: https://megalithic.me/contact npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com yes, thanks, this is security-related so we need to discuss privately.... please try telegram or signal or provide a signal username -- if you can't get signal to work, please send us an email here with your signal user name and we will try from our side: https://megalithic.me/contact npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com If it works with Alby Go, I think that shows that the problem is not on the NWC side, but on the application side. I'd recommend trying a different nostr app -- Yakihonne maybe on a different device or try the Alby browser extension on desktop. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com ok! a couple questions 1) "sending sats out of my wallet" can you be more specific? whenever you zap a certain nostr user? what happens if you zap a different nost user? try zapping us 1 sat 2) pls try the NWC code in a different application, like Yakihonne 3) what platform (iOS, android, web?) are you using primal on? thanks npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com weirdly this ends up being the OG bitcoiner problem, like finding hobbies and stuff npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com it might be you have created multiple vaults, try switching vaults? npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Can you provide more details on what you mean by "tor connection"? npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Some other users reported issues with Ameythst recently. These "normies", when they arrive at our door, think that "crypto is a scam" and have likely never been presented with the idea that Bitcoin and Crypto are different. It's not for me. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com @npub16c0…6nvr I want to apologize for talking too much smack about your usage of Spark in Primal 3.0 -- it came off too strong and that was my error. I'm sorry. Ultimately the most important thing is to onboard normies onto Primal, and get them zapping. If Spark is the best way for you to do that for now, then you're right to use Spark. I'll keep my opinions on this to myself going forward. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com All reasonable points and I want to apologize if my post about this was overly alarmist. I would just suggest: Before using the new Primal wallet, it could be useful to be sure you're comfortable sharing your I.P. address and device user-agent with LightSpark. Probably for most people, like 95%+ of users, it's fine. If you care, you can read up on LightSpark here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_A._Marcus npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Sure -- but is it too much to ask for LightSpark to be honest about the service they are offering? They seem to be marketing it as "self-custodial".... when in fact it's nothing of the kind, and users have no choice but to allow LightSpark to collect sensitive data like their I.P. address and browser details? But in principle -- Rizful vs. LightSpark -- you are basically right. There's nothing necessarily better about Rizful. But: Rizful isn't literally a Lightning "compliance" company with prominent ties to Israel? Maybe that matters? Again -- for users who actually give a shit -- use a proper solution like Alby Hub. For all others, do your research about who you are "doing business with" and don't be taken in by false claims about "self-custody" or think that "no KYC" means that there won't be "eventual KYC"..... npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com i'm trying to figure out what normies think will happen as whatever the opposite of that is what will happen npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Who thinks this BTC pump is for real and who thinks it's just a bear market rally? I personally have no fucking clue. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Again -- for many users, surveillance and top-down control aren't really something they care about, so using a lightning address from LightSpark really is a fine solution -- it's pretty convenient and should work fine when LightSpark's servers aren't down or unresponsive. But -- If you DO care about surveillance and self-custody, please take the time to do this properly with a solution like Alby Hub, which is **real** self-custody, with a fully verifiable code stack that you can run on your own hardware, with no compromises: https://albyhub.com/ npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com It is not self-custodial -- and if you notice on our home page, we recommend you keep 99% of your funds offline, in a hardware wallet, and only use Rizful for funds that you expect to spend on the Lightning network in the near future. For serious users, we recommend Alby Hub -- which, IS properly self-custodial. Spark claims to be self-custodial, but it's basically a lie, because you're completely reliant on servers controlled by Lighspark ... and also the Lightning nodes that Lightspark runs. (And Lightspark never seems to willing to explain how the "self-custody" thing works when they run the Lightning nodes...) npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Wow! That's amazing. Even though every transaction -- IP address, user-agent, everything else, is monitored by LightSpark, controlled by a family so close to the state of Israel? That seems incredible. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Is Agora something to do with political activists? Please tell me it isn't using the Spark/LightSpark API??!?!? npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com Parts of Spark are indeed "open source" -- but not the important parts, which shows how it interacts with Lightning. Anyway, it doesn't matter -- as of right now, only LightSpark is running the back-end, so if you use Primal's new wallet, you should assume that all your transactions, I.P. address -- basically your entire online identity -- goes into LightSpark's database. Not something I would personally be comfortable with. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com I would invite you to look at David Marcus' twitter feed, and/or the many dozens (probably hundreds) of public statement's he's made in support of killing large numbers of Palestinians. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com "no-KYC" here actually means -- the Marcus family has not required you to KYC yet to use their Lightning nodes. Please don't believe that they won't at some point in the future change their minds. npub1jluy3twvf338v6zlujzzdhjkzjy8ezj34ksydr8vw8a6jwp89ygshpp2kq Rizful.com DANGER! First, I'm a big supporter of Primal, and I know why they've compromised and used a permissioned & centralized API like Spark for their wallet. It might be the best choice for many of their users. But also, you need to realize when you use Spark, you are trusting one very politically active, very wealthy, family (the Marcus family)..... to custody your funds, approve your transactions, and monitor your transactions. When Primal says that your Spark wallet is "non-custodial" - this is basically a legal fiction. In reality, LightSpark ( https://www.lightspark.com/ ) is controlling your funds -- they're running the centralized Lightning nodes that handle your payments. Again: For some users this might be fine. But if you are not a supporter of the state of Israel ... or ... if you are engaged in anything where you need privacy, or, for example, you don't want your data shared with certain governments..... please be very cautious with Spark.
