5 years of continuous sobriety today. Beyond blessed and grateful for the 12-steps, AA, sponship, God, the support of my family and community. 🧡
Almost in tears earlier when getting my son up from his nap after work. Life is great and sometimes I still have issues, but the desire to drink has been removed and that is a miracle for an Alcoholic like myself. 🙏🏻

Replit is wild. Spent 30 minutes building a Bitcoin powered Sobriety Tracker called Sats4Sobriety (S4S). It's a mobile PWA that rewards individuals for thier sobriety via Lightning using NWC.
Haven't deployed or anything, just using free version, but cool to see the preview. Need to test and improve over time.
Probably will need to tune down the rewards too lul. https://image.nostr.build/d206846a837c197568dd9cfd40c61aefbbde771127b4a3db043314b02e0be2e8.jpg

🧹 Rule 333: A minimalist wardrobe challenge.
Choose 33 items (including clothes, shoes, accessories) and wear only those for 3 months.
Clear the clutter. Keep what matters.
I don't think I quite got down to 33 items, but I cleared out a bunch of clothes I haven't worn in a long time. Got the idea from this book! 📚
Minimalism and Nostr both strip away the excess—giving you more control and freedom to focus on what truly matters.

Reminder that recovery and sobriety saves lives. Prayers to those affected by Alcolism and Addiction. 🙏🏻

Edison definitely had some rivals. It gets into the current wars too with George Westinghouse who prioritized alternating current vs Edisons direct current.
Need to read up on Tesla too, I've watched some documentaries. He was way ahead of his time with theorizing wireless communication and many other things.

No, that must be a different one. This one starts around 1869 to roughly 1930s looks like. Still have a few chapters left. Doesn't really get into his upbringing or childhood. More his experiments, inventing electric light in 1979, and continues on after that.

Bitcoin needs to be domesticated—simplified so that stacking sats and holding your own keys feels as natural as setting up a new phone out of the box. Let’s build tools that bring hard money into everyday life, where anyone can use it confidently.
Steve Jobs did this with the Apple II—turning the computer from a mysterious machine into something friendly, familiar, and found in homes everywhere. It's possible and the best people on earth are on the mission.

Our colleges new Assistant Dean of Cybersecurity did a presentation about Bitcoin in 2012. He mentions it everything I run into him on-campus. It's on YouTube. Today was during a Bitcoin Club meeting. He has a doctorate in Mathematics. Next thing he brings up is the 'new' blockchain thing Proof-of-Stake coin of the week.
My reply is so it's not backed by energy like Proof-of-Work?
He's told me he doesn't own any bitcoin. Who knows if this is true, very intelligent academic, but clearly doesn't understand the decentralization and monetary properties.
I'm a 2 time college drop out who first heard about Bitcoin in 2017. My life was a mess with drinking and I went to treatment that year. Fast forward to 2020 and I actually started studying monetary history, austrian economics, Bitcoin, listening to podcasts, reading books, etc. I was able to get sober by the grace of God, a solid recovery community and a program of action.
I've been more financially stable, paid down debt, went back to school for Cybersecurity and started stacking sats. Bitcoin and the community has been a huge part of turning my life around. So grateful for this.
I'm not sure what the point of this is. I would say that PLEBS are part of this adoption cycle, some academics will be on the sideline until the late majority. Bitcoin is a powerful tool for those who have been through the tough times. Let's keep building!
