In Walker - The Bitcoin Podcast, Ecash on Bitcoin: Making Money Private again, @npub12rv…85vg made some great points:
Ecash can achieve a very similar level of privacy as physical cash.
If physical was invented today, it would probably be illegale (saying).
As free people of democratic nations who support freedom, we should also support privacy because, without privacy, we will not be able to exercise any of our rights in the future.
The discussion should go in a direction where we normalize privacy and enable it for everyone.
Although I would love to see Ecash perfectly private for everyone and every amount, I am not sure if this can be achieved in the short term in a hostile environment. Would it be possible to create mints, which are limited to a certain amount - say 500 $? That way, there would be much less attack surface, and the tools and mints could be built the right way. From there, the sky is the limit.

While listening to the great content, I asked myself if we have to fear a world, where nation states absorb all the UTXO via taxes and only distribute CBDC coins back. If only a few would play along, we would slowly but surely lose access to Bitcoin UTXO and, therefore, the freedom that it entails. Is there a game-theoretical approach that prevents this?

If you can send sats out of primal to your own lightning wallet? Go to your profile and provide your bitcoin ligtning address. I have created one via @npub1get…0nfm (also were i keep my nostr keys). Alby is connetced to my zeus wallet. When you now send sats to yourself they will go to your zeis wallet. Perhaps there are better ways, but this one worked for me.

I still haven't figured it all out yet. The bitcoin lightning address in my nostr profile defines where I receive zaps, correct? The connected wallet just is responsible for where sats are sent, or am I already mixing things up here? Then what is going to happen if I use two different nostr apps using the same npub. It seems like the bitcoin lightning address is synchronized, but the wallet can be different. And although I have received the sats I have zapped to myself in the Zeus app connected via @Alby integration, I don't see the zaps in Damus / Primal. Is there any reference guide showing the dependencies?
