I pushed back a little on your post because I was personally affected by a set of credentials that mean nothing in my chosen industry. In fact what mattered most was a proof of work history. My chosen industry/passion is so loosely governed that the lowest point of entry is simply a willingness to work OR a bunch of cash to bank roll a business venture. There are however some industries adjacent to mine that we are always use that require credentials to practice. The body of work gets built AFTER the credential is attained.
