Every communication channel is different, has its own purpose and scope. I don’t think full imitation/ substitution is possible or needed. I never thought of typing hints as a dark pattern as well. Tbh I always thought about this thing as a curiosity not as something that has impact on quality snd/or effectiveness of communication. But I also usually don’t sit and look at how someone is typing a reply to me. The only thing I’d say, when I do observe as someone is typing a reply to me, signals I get: longevity / time , interruptions in typing - that’s how I know whether a person actually puts real effort into verbalizing what he/she wants to tell me. Also I really like situations when someone is typing a reply for a longer time but then doesn’t send it. It’s the biggest signal possible if you think about it. not everything that is on somebody’s mind should be and needs to be communicated, for different reasons . so it means a person actually cares about the other person and puts effort in the process of communication , and in this particular situation a person re-considered and spared me something that I don’t need to know anyway . Body can’t function without a head - that is true but not for every organism :) bitcoin is not like a human body - it is more like an octopus’s body (maybe there is a better analogy but I don’t have one now). octopus has its neurons distributed across the whole body, and 2/3 of all neurons are in its limbs. 99% or maybe more of the population don’t make any choices, generally, in life, even about what to buy for dinner. Choices are made for them. I mean there is an illusion of choices but we know they are not real. This is not a criticism or sarcasm, it’s just a fact. Lately there is a lot of posts about bees on Nostr , so using this metaphor here - majority of ppl are worker bees, but just much more lazy. Btw I am not any better , so I am talking about myself as well. Bitcoin has always been offering a way out , an exit from the world of fiat slavery, whether as money or as investment etc. Not relevant at this point. But there is a one huge problem - to enter this exit you are required to make your own decision, spent few thousands of calories on brain work required for an education process and you need to take a risk and full responsibility for your choice and changes that it may bring into your life. That’s it - this is a stopper. Fiat was , is chosen by others for us, it’s imposed and this is the “beauty” of it. You don’t need to make any choices, spent time, efforts on some boring shit, also - the most scary for average person element - you don’t need to take responsibility for anything. You have been assigned a role of a receiver, a forever child, who can complain , scream but doesn’t make any difference, who doesn’t matter. Fiat, inflation ,decreasing level of quality of life, ever rising taxes, dumb and dumber, arrogant and ever more arrogant politicians who don’t even care anymore to pretend that they are any different from criminals - this is all horrible , but you can forever blame on them. With btc , you can’t blame on anyone accept yourself - this is unbearable and unmanageable load . So I am afraid - bitcoin will not make everyone happy. Not in a foreseeable future. Not with the current version of a human being. Same logic I believe is applicable to scalability “problems” of Nostr. Nostr (although a lot is to do and to improve) is not for everyone . If we want to make btc or Nostr for everyone we need to change the core of what makes btc and Nostr so special. But compromise for what, for whom? For those who don’t even care when being robbed, humiliated, lied to on a daily basis? I think that at this moment, taking into account recent developments , we need to focus not on scalability, we need to ensure security and start thinking really seriously about building parallel to fiat circular economy, maybe in a country that favors btc. At this moment we can’t save everyone , it’s like on the plane - we need to ensure that we can save ourselves , then when this ensured - we will think about others. Otherwise they will eat us, and there will be no one to care about freedom or decentralized world in the first place. This is obv imo. And sorry-not sorry for not cheering up blindly, but I am actually optimistic just in an another way.

I think I watched it twice. Enjoyed it a lot. But tbh I think 80% of this movie success is Joaquin Phoenix as a Joker. Every scene with him is just pure hypnosis. I also came to this realization that bitcoiner doesn’t always equal libertarian and doesn’t even equal open- minded person oftentimes. I’d say even here on Nostr there are ppl who are just plain conservatives with quite rigid world-views, strong feeling of self-righteousness and very low level of self-doubt. I suppose for them love for freedom only means love for personal freedom that btc holding gives but doesn’t mean recognizing that other ppl were not created to accommodate their individual believe systems. Sometimes “otherness” of the world around us and ppl who are not me :) is annoying and even frustrating , I know that and everyone knows that. What is the nature of a conflict ? Does he attack you on a personal level (character) or he doubts your professionalism/skills ? Anyway , if you totally can’t not work with him, minimize direct contacts tete-a-tete. Make all the communication traceable, only in writing, so it’s clear who is doing and is responsible for what exactly, what are the objectives and how you measure results. Let him know also that you are open for a feedback but in writing so you can analyse it. I don’t know the details , so this piece of advice is general af (also more suitable for corpo environment, if you work at the construction site - prob it’s just better to take him out for a drink and just ask directly WTF, dude ?:)) but in my experience ppl who make us feel “uncomfortable” point out to our weaknesses or mirror something that also exists in us. I’ve only had a chance to meet my paternal great grand- mother, I was 10-11 when she died, she was at 95-96. But I remember her character, and food she cooked for us when we visited and her apartment and how she smelled when I hugged her and how the apartment smelled. Now ppl and places don’t smell like that . But I heard a lot of stories about my paternal great grand-parents on both my grandmother and grandfather’s side. And a lot of stories even about their families, and I saw them on old photos so I consider that I know them and I feel that they are still members of my clan.

I don’t want to go into oppression aspect of his argument, bc I think he is slightly oversimplifying , but I totally agree on a point that everything that is produced by society in a given point of history, also in terms of esthetic value, is a representation of society’s spirit. Also he uses this term postmodern architecture - not good - bc it literally can mean everything and therefore means nothing specifically. Ppl usually use term postmodern when they don’t know how to precisely define an object of art produced after 1950’s . Intuitively I know what type of modern architecture he is referring to , but 20-21 centuries produced a lot of amazing arch objects -this is just an undeniable fact. But altogether he brings up an important topic. Ugliness or lack of exposure to beauty in every aspect of our everyday life is not just an unfortunate circumstance , it corrupts and brings down human spirit. Beauty (understanding of harmony and proportions in everything) should be a default feature not an accidental and optional side effect.

1st thought - The amount of work and skills this masterpiece required is mind blowing. Purely manual work. And they didn’t have any laser engravers or any type of automation back then. It’s joyous just to look at it and know that we ppl can create such things. But to wear it - it prob weights not less than 20kg, maybe more. i think Batman fights his demons first of all and as a side effect he fights villains. also i dont think he is a true superhero, i think he is a man in superhero costume. what is his intrinsic superhero power , maybe i miss something ? on the other hand, joker doesnt have any fancy costumes or tools, just his insanity. but its hard to relate to joker either - he is a messenger of death. you see this is a problem with "Batman universe" - no true protagonist , real hero - we don't choose between the good and the bad, but between a troubled and complex in his motivation man and villains. this is more realistic obv, but is this a real superhero film though? answering your question - I don't relate to neither of two. In my imagination there will be a moment when humans (human-born individuals) will be mostly engaged in idea-producing activities (pure creation). AI at that point will advance to the level where it will be able to execute/test all of these ideas, which means that humanity will have God-like control (i dont like this word but i cant find another now) over material world and maybe even time and space. But i also think at that potential point of time we will have not only generative AI, and a "human" will differ a lot from a "human" how we understand it now. If we really are destined to reach that point in history, humans will need to evolve in every respect. Bc if we are to become God like in terms of our power, we need to be God like in terms of our intentions and we need to comprehend love first. Actually i am very optimistic and curious about AI but this is a challenging moment for us. Humanity for the first time in its history stands in front of a huge mirror and sees itself for what it is (notion that we are the most perfect god's creatures is slightly not that obvious now ;)) with all its flaws, limitations and darkness - like a species, not like a nation or an individual. And there is no escape from that. But i feel like we'll manage at the end 😀 You know, sometimes i think that AI and everything around it is nearly not that interesting as humans' reaction to AI, and the change that it will impose on us.

B is very pleasing in terms of colors and general aestethics but the nostrich (bird) element in B is almost unrecognisable and even confusing . A has the best bird representation out of all imo but A looks like it's missing something. Its not about imagining or thinking constantly about this or any other threat to my life or freedom or well-being. Its about identifying the risks, being aware of them and then after having as accurate and realistic assessment of those risks, to make actions to mitigate them to the extent possible. Imo if the course of events continues the same way as for the past 3 years , I’m sure they will eventually de-legalise private (with undisclosed owners) wallets. I won’t be surprised if they would want everyone who keeps their assets off the CEXs to report wallets and will keep registers of those with the owners all doxed obv. I wouldn’t be surprised if these eventually will lead to the p2p black market that already exists to expand even more , payments for services/products will also be restricted only for „registered” wallets. Same as it was with FX market in Soviet Union. It was almost in 100% illegal to own foreign currency (with few exceptions) and you were able to either spent it in the gov owned stores or exchange in the gov owned banks as per their rates but first you were required to explain how you got it in the first place. Black p2p market was thriving even though engagement in this type of activity was a serious criminal offence. Sorry for dark visions but nothing indicates that we will suddenly go in the liberalisation direction, at least in the majority of countries (with few exceptions). It’s just happening so slowly that we don’t feel how we are being slowly boiled to death as proverbial frogs. And btw what is the point in even developing CBDCs from gov point of view if there is still a parallel market that is not fully controlled by them?

I always thought that someone who uses bookmarks love the idea of a “book” and himself as a “keen reader” not The book and act of reading itself. Books (as a physical object)are printed out for active reading, they should be worn out and covered with hand written notes, they are waiting to be put money, love letters and leaves and flowers in them only to be discovered years later. They don’t mind even to be spilled coffee on, and to be finally forgotten on a train as an anonymous gift for someone else.

But it’s all comes down to one problem - the biggest enemy of freedom is when ppl forget why freedom is vital and think of it as of a totally abstract concept reserved for Independence day, national anthem and lessons of history in mid school.

If the person squeeze the toothpaste from the bottom (I’m squeezing from the middle always) , if the person when pouring the cup of tee or coffee underfills (below 1 cm from the top) the water . 😂 I’m joking , these are not dealbreakers , but i always notice these two habits in everyone. The one real Dealbreaker is to have or not to have children and different approaches to raising children. Ok 2d one - lack of sense of humour :)

I think you should have been more specific here. I don’t like ppl physically hurting other ppl/taking away their lives , or stealing from each other, and I think ppl shouldn’t do this. And I think there are limits to personal freedom. This is not a victim complex but just basic rules of the universe. sometimes we post something having in mind very specific situation or idea, but we put it as a general statement without the context. It can be misleading .

Even if this technology is still in development/testing whatever or even if its imperfect in any way, its still incredible and gives so much hope for the future. So many lives will be saved or health restored, do many ppl will be returned to society. Can you imagine what this lady was feeling when she was able again to communicate ? Omg . She probably felt like she was born for the second time. Thank you for sharing . I am also so happy now :)

I’ve tried a lot of different diets and after all my opinion is - they are not good , not for me at least, I am not happy when I constraint myself to 2 or 3 products , I like diversity and good food regardless of whether this is protein , fat or carbs. It took some time for me to understand that my weight is directly correlated to my mental health though. So I’m in my best shape when I feel in control of my life, have a job that fulfils but not kills me , surrounded by ppl I like and respect etc :) Then somehow Im again at my high school weight without being on any type of a diet . What a miracle ? So yes, I guess this is my trick - 😜- is this an extreme diet? Dunno. but to get to a good place in a life is prob much harder than just to trick your body into losing weight by eating in an unnatural (imo) way. Having said that obv it’s always a good thing to respect your body at least as you respect your car and eat healthy and balanced food.

Few days ago someone posted Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright which I always thought to be one of the most fascinating objects of arch. ever. Now when you asked about the favourite style I was not able to answer right away. But i thought that whatever style Fallingwater represents is my favourite. And Wikipedia says it's called "organic architecture" :) on the other hand I love literally everything designed by Zaha Hadid. So my tastes are all over the place 😆
