Out of curiosity, is the amount of Sats they charge per session set, or does it fluctuate according to ₿/Fiat?
I know it makes sense for it to be set but, against Fiat, either the seller or the buyer are inevitably going to be in profit or at a loss at every transaction.
Given that life in general still very much revolves around Fiat, if their Sats income loses value against their Fiat mortgage that would be a loss for them.
Because ₿ is still relatively in its infancy, do we just take the hit every time until one day the system will flip to favour most or all of life's income/expenditure in ₿.
I guess so.

Tbh I have looked into it already. To tell the full story my journey actually begins in London where the only real option is the Eurostar to Paris or some other major city.
Last year I tried it for the first time by train, London to Paris then onwards to Stuttgart where I stayed at a friend’s place. A few days later we both traveled by car from Stuttgart to Bolzano/Bozen, my final destination.
I am looking at a similar journey again around March ‘26, this time I am also taking a set of high-ish end bicycle wheels with me that I fear might get damaged on a plane…

Decided to go for a walk and ended up inside a busy indoor shopping centre.
Within 20 mins I felt drained physically and mentally and before long I was craving sweets.
I ended up eating 2 chocolate bars back to back, something I never do. I actually enjoyed the chokkies.

I’ve looked into running my own node including the Start9 diy option (not detailed enough procedure for a novice like myself).
I have found the whole thing confusing and daunting at the same time.
If this is not your field you are going to struggle, feel frustrated and maybe make mistakes that can end up being costly and compromise your security.
It’s not the same as learning to make pancakes where you just chuck them in the bin until you’ve learned the correct method.
What we need are proper step by step tutorials for total beginners, perhaps someone reading this can direct me. Thank you.

Thinking of running my own node.
Do you or does anyone know:
I spend time between two different locations (6 months here 6 months there), do I need to take the node with me to each location?
Btw, in one location I have Wi-Fi to which I can connect an Ethernet cable, in the other location I can only connect via 4g Hotspot through my phone.

All I did was zoom out but I get your point.
Of course this cycle's expected top (are we there yet?) is nowhere near that of previous tops in % terms especially when considering recent institutional entry, ETFs, legislation etc.
I generally don't trust TradFi institutions (masters at manipulating markets) or Governments, therefore I am open to the idea that the traditional 4 year cycle may be broken or shifted as a result.
Only time will tell.
As you say, stay humble and stack sats.

I think what can happen is those few devs create a fork, but it is each and every member of the entire node community that determines whether or not to implement the fork.
Which way will the majority go?
Bitcoin Cash BCH is an example that has so far proved to be unsuccessful compared to almighty BTC.
This is my understanding, anybody correct me if I’m wrong.
