With this I can now implement a way for users to manage their notes on the relay themselves as well as implement an administration widget for the relay operator so the configurations can be changed from the frontend. Importing events will likely move to only be available for whitelisted users.

Yes... which means you still have an on chain tx for the swap from to. Which means when you spend it on some drugs for a certain price, there is a on chain tx that closely matches the same value amount you spent on the drugs. Now you can say no one knows how much I spent on the drugs but if the fed is watching they will know how much you bought and it's rough estimate of how much its worth. Then they can see on chain tx in bitcoin for close to that amount and start monitoring you. BTC doesn't have a privacy failure. People do.

There are a ton of versions of core out there running. Not every node is running the newest implementation. The chances are slim to none and the event you speak of knots would likely have the same bug. It's very similar with some filters applied that could just as easily be applied in your core settings.

Beaver explains it okay. You can't see who or how much XMR but feds can see that drugs were sold and funds moved on BTC chain nearly equivalent in value. If you're not careful, leaking your IP and this giving reason to start monitoring you. You could just stay pseudonomous in BTC and use tor, Satoshi.

If you're moving in and out of BTC, you're making footprints on chain tied to balances you're spending. Swap to $50 of XMR from BTC, on chain tx, buy $50 of drugs with XMR, winner where that came from. Closely matches amount here on chain. With ever decreasing volume of activity, XMR becomes even less private. Best to just stay pseudonymous in btc

You can definitely self host it. You just need a database of quotes you want to note and then you need to connect to a relay and send a signed kind 1. Use whatever language you want. Read nip1 to learn signing. A bot is basically a client of its own that just does a thing in a schedule or listens for something and does a thing.

For instance purplepag.es I would want to specify to only write kind0,3,10002 since that's the only kinds it takes anyways. It would allow for a lot more flexibility in your outboxes and also prevent needlessly sending kinds to a relay when you know it doesn't accept them to begin with.

That's why you run your own relay. But clients are useless I they're not using outbox and your relay is not in someone else's list. They won't see your posts. The issue is not with relays as I would advocate to run your own. The issue is with clients not fetching other notes based on a users relay. Say If I write to my relay and you follow me but my relay is not in your list, if the client isn't using outbox, you won't see my posts.

Peak core devs in their own echo chamber. Yes people care about content being lost. People will not use an app if they're not 100% sure their content will be preserved into the future. It's like... A big aspect of content... Creation... Why TF do I spend time making content if I'm not sure it'll be accessible at any point in the future. Censorship resistance is pointless if I can ensure the content is kept for whatever arbitrary reason. Users: Run your own relay. Clients: Implement outbox.
It's the whole fucking point.

I did port 5000 as the app shows and it timed out on the connection but did try. So perhaps it's something I need to enable in auth on nextcloud. Will try again tomorrow morning.

@nprofile…28zl I'm using the android app to connect to a nextcloud instance at my server and I set the 8081 port to live but when connecting on the android app, it says live on port 5000. Then when I'm going back and forth from next cloud to holesail when I go back to holesail I'm back at the home screen. And I can't connect on nextcloud app.
