the real tragedy is that unsophisticated people took each of the principles as a binary, and dogmaed the fuck out of the preferred side of each of them, producing a megadogma that was as unuseful as the thing it was meant to be rallying against.

This is frustrating, because the Agile Manifesto is seen as absolutes, when it absolutely isn't: processes and tools should be _in service of_ individuals and interactions, rather than mere alternatives.
Does your tool get in the way of communicating? If yes, you have a bad tool.
The actual message being communicated got lost.
