Yeah, Web of Trust is a fancy word, and easier to say than to implement properly.

At least, some #nostr clients (as Amethyst) show a "purple check" to my follows, so that I can differentiate impersonators:

Web of Trust is a much better way to fight impersonation than DNS alias for the majority of identities, imo.
There could be some exceptions, when some DNS domains are publicly known and recognizable, but that's not the general case.

NIP-05 is just an alias. The identity is the npub.
That's #nostr actual killer app: keypair-based identity.
