There is NIP95 which allows to store images on relays, but its not established very broadly. Amethyst supports it but I wouldn't even know which relays accept images.

You can, but it is still a new utxo. A utxo is just the output of the transaction you did, they are locking sats to the same pubkey but it are different outputs in different transactions.

Afaik one guardian of the federation lost access to their domain. The the domain was somehow contained in the data that got hashed to the federation ID, so they couldn't just swap out the domain. So the federation was still working with the remaining guardians, but really slow and unreliable.
Fedimint fixed this now, so it shouldn't happen again.

Some do, but usually not. There are aggregating relays that serve events from many other relays. (filter.)nostr.wine is a very good (paid) relay which is nearly sufficient on its own.
Adding ~10 relays is a good bandwidth/battery usage compromise on mobile, on desktop you can easily add more.
There is also ongoing effort to make smaller/personal relays more useful by querying from relays specified by the authors IIUC (outbox model). Gossip does this for example.
Running your own relay is also good if you want to have a complete backup of your events, as long term storage on public relays is not guaranteed.

On mobile for example its nice if your YouTube app opens the URL (e.g. newpipe) which doesn't happen with alternative frontends.
Maybe as additional URL but then the reply could get confusing or cluttered for some.
Really hoping to see clients do this at one point.

I guess capex would be extremely high. The 2 phase coolant alone is really expensive (eg 3M novec), let alone the complexity of designing the remaining system.

I think a cool UX for self custodial lightning wallets would be a negative balance after setting it up. Then you receive directly to the LSP (custody) until the balance is 0. Then the LSP opens a channel with inbound liquidity you paid for upfront.
Way simpler than failing first, too small payments or buying liquidity separately.
