With the release of #openbsd 7.5 just around the corner, I plan to write up a "from scratch" install process on my #ThinkPad X220.
It will be based off my existing Open Suck[1] installer, which defaults to mostly #suckless software with #dwm as the main DE.

How is my old X201 ThinkPad a better development machine than the M2 MacBook Air? So many hoops to jump through to configure and run basic executables.
Why do we as developers put up with MacOS...? The machine's speed? The battery life? I'm not so sure that outweighs sunk time "fixing" things.

Really debating running my own instance of cgit. No fault of sourcehut, but my repos are so “unpopular” that I don’t need a lot of the bells and whistles offered.
Only issue is integrating patches / TODOs. Maybe just through Git email directly to my personal address? 🤷‍♂️

The 1MB Club is now hosted on NearlyFreeSpeech. There was nothing wrong with Sourcehut but I wanted the ability to serve the site through both HTTP and HTTPS. I’ve written about the reasoning of serving both in the past:

Silently switched my website over from #barf to #ikiwiki yesterday.
Those on the old RSS should have been notified on how to “update” to the new feed and things _should_ be working fine.

While I do use an M2 MacBook Air for my daily work, coming back to FreeBSD on my X220 for personal projects is always refreshing.
Both have pros and cons, but dwm just fits so much better into my workflow.

So last night I setup up #FreeBSD to test out EOL #ruby versions with RVM - and everything went extremely well!
