I have found a bug, which I want to make sure you are aware of.
At least once a day, I see double notifications, where the same notification appears twice in my notifications list.
This happens both when using Mastodon through Ivory (picture 1), and through the Mastodon web interface (picture 2), so this is clearly a server side issue.
I think this has been happening since at least the end of 2025, because I reported it to Ivory months ago.
Not a showstopper, but still annoying.

Yesterday, Trump claimed that Vice President and acting leader of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez was cooperating with the Trump regime.
Shortly after, Ms. Rodríguez held a press conference demanding the immediate release of President Maduro, and announcing she has formed a council to defend Venezuela and activated the military forces accross the nation.
From the looks of it, the US will not “be running Venezuela”, as Trump said. More likely, Trump got himself a new Vietnam.

The word “Trump” is a synonym for “scam”.
In his Christmas address Trump promised that military service members would receive a Christmas bonus of $1776, which — according to Trump — was made possible by the increased federal revenue from all the new tariffs.
That was a lie.
What Trump did was to steal $2.6 billion from a tax free housing assistance program for soldiers, and spend that money for the Trump-branded Christmas bonus which will now be subject to state tax.

According to the US Travel Association, total inbound international visits to the US are projected to fall by approximately 6.3 % compared to 2024. Visits from Canada alone are down 24 %.

I am really tired of listening to Marco Rubio praising Trump for getting Europe to spend 5 percent of GDP on defence.
No country is spending more on defence to please Trump. We are spending more, because we are alone in the war with Putin. We are spending more, so we can lead the world, now that Trump has put the US in the back seat.

I see this as another indication he is not trying to win the midterms fair and square. Because if he was, that would require some level of popularity — but he just does not care about his own popularity at all.

Breaking: Democratic Texas representative and top Trump nemesis Jasmine Crockett will be running for the US Senate. It is an interesting move as Texas has two Republican senators, but Crockett has been very visible the last four years and is quite popular.

In my neighborhood, I often see parcel delivery trucks from 5 different transport companies wasting energy to drive to the same homes on the same day.

Then comes trash day, and 1 company arrives with 1 garbage truck and empties all the trash cans in 1 go.
