I'm starting work on this Mastodon version of this tool.
Take an ID and return a static and embeddable piece of HTML.
But there's a problem with the #MastodonAPI.

Boring technical question which neither the documentation nor ChatGPT can answer.
I want to automate screenshots using #Python's #Selenium Webdriver with #Chrome.
This works - but the non-logged in experience of Twitter forces dark-mode.
I want a light-mode screenshot.
I can't find a way to set SEC-CH-PREFERS-COLOR-SCHEME in Selenium. Nor can I find a light-mode toggle for non-logged in Twitter users.
Any clues gang?

I've had a couple of tickets open with a SaaS provider for several months. No response from them.
Last week, I noticed they were having a developer day in London.
So, yesterday, I went along and (politely) accosted their DevRel team and demo'd the bugs in their product.
Hopefully, they're now being escalated.
Not entirely sure if that was fair / ethical of me. But it was the only way I could actually speak to a human about the issue.
We'll see if it makes a difference!

The conversation can happen in public - so everyone can see it. But only specific people are allowed to reply.
This is quite normal on other social networks. My Facebook posts are visible to the world - but I only want my friends to be able to comment on them.
As I say, the mental model for most people will need updating. The UI will need to be carefully designed. But it's clear that pruning out unwanted replies is a feature that lots of people want.

Using Aliza, I can generate a decent 3D model of my jaw. Fully interactive. Looks great.
No way to export it to a 3D file that I can find. Very annoying!

What's the best way to put stickers on a laptop in such a way that they're removable en mass?
I used to have a plastic shell for my MacBook. I stuck stickers to the shell and, once I gave back the laptop, I could keep the stickers framed on my wall.
My new @npub15f7…m7wr doesn't have a shell (that I can find).
Is there something I can stick to the lid which can be removed in a non-destructive way? Then I can stick stickers to the sticker!

A question for my #WordPress friends.
I've found a plugin which hasn't been updated for over a year. It needs a few fixes, which I've written and tested - not security related.
The maintainer stopped answering support questions about 2 years ago.
I've tried emailing them, but had no response.
The code isn't on GitHub.
I know GPLv2 says I *can* fork and republish the code - but do you think a year is too soon to be stepping on the maintainer's toes?

Found a whole new level of security incompetence.
Went to type in my 2FA code, but nothing appeared on screen.
They hadn't disabled pasting. Instead, they used JavaScript to ensure that only numbers could be typed in.

"In order to get you up as a supplier, please provide a redacted copy of your bank statement. Screenshots are not acceptable."
After a bit of back and forth, they accepted that modern business banks don't provide paper statements. Nor paying-in books. Nor cheque books. So, yes, they would have to accept a screenshot of a statement.

Bad news! A financial institution has just CC'd me and about 100 other customers.
Good news! I now know how many people use [name-of-service]@[their-domain.tld] as a contact address!
Thoughts and prayers for the poor admin assistant who is going to have to do the GDPR walk of shame.
And sleepless nights for the IT team who didn't set up rules to prevent a mass CC.

Electronics nerds! I need your wisdom, advice, and admonishment.
I have a small circuit board with a large USB-A plug.
I want to remove the USB-A and replace it with a USB-C plug.
Is that possible? If so, what would I need?
I have a soldering iron that I've used at least twice!
(The connection needs data and power - although not a lot of either. I don't have space to add an A-to-C converter dongle to it.)
