I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who is frustrated with Lenovo websites. The product search filters are garbage but even worse is the psref site.
Whenever I am researching Thinkpad models I have to check half a dozen different resources to piece together the specs.
This would be much less of an issue if they would just pick a display for each model and commit to it but inevitably they end up flooding the used market with low res 250 nit displays models. Really makes the model numbers quite unreliable.

Kamala Harris is not going to beat the guy that Hillary Clinton lost to.
This guy is the only candidate that might stand a chance against Trump at this point: Beto.
The hardliners who are going to vote red or blue no matter what don't matter: Kamala will get all those votes that Biden would have got. Some others though, will not vote for a woman--this is fairly well established. The democrats will lose some votes if they run a woman, even more if they run two.
The only path to victory here is to convince some fence-sitters that the democrats still represent their "Real America", which Beto might just pull off. Pandering to their base is pointless for the Dems--they must win over the undecided, and that means putting someone up to bat who looks like every other US president in history.
If blue wants to win they will beg Beto, or anyone with roughly the same demographics, to run.
My prediction is that Biden's resignation will fracture the party and it will be a long time before they find a new leader to rally around. Biden was a weak choice to begin with and Harris has none of the energy or momentum needed.

I want to love Blockstream but they have been disappointing in so many ways, and now an email breach which they are slow to admit/discover. Reluctance to own their mistakes is a really bad look for any software vendor.
Jade is a lousy product, borderline irresponsible. Green has some great concepts but a sloppy UX.
Liquid is a great product but I feel like it needs more attention from outside Blockstream before I can really trust it.

The term bitcoin would ideally be applied to a unit with a sane value. As it stands a lot of people think of bitcoin as expensive when that is a completely arbitrary valuation. Right now 1 sat is too small to be the standard unit, and 1 bitcoin is too big.
I think Adam Back has the right idea and in the near future we'll be pricing bitcoin by the bit (0.00000100 btc) and this will eventually become the unit that laypeople mean when they say bitcoin. Sometime around the point that 1 sat == $0.01.
It's a logical transition for people to think of sats as cents and bits as dollars.

I have come to dread the web. The cookie notices. The pop ups. The randomly refreshng pages. The bullshit SEO fluff. The consistently garish layouts and themes.
For a brief period I found Twitter to be a superior source of information but for a few years now it has been a real chore to slog through the web of shit.
Ad blockers help a lot and they work well. I have multiple approaches to blocking ads and they are all excellent, hands-free, zero maintenance solutions.
One thing I really wish worked better is reader mode. This is a true godsend when it works, but it's too manual a process. I want to see everything in reader mode all the time without a hint of the underlying crap.

If your main use case is a hypervisor then you might consider Intel's Clear Linux. I kind of love it, although they have been neglecting the desktop environment in recent years and it is a real PITA if you have any graphics hw other than Intel. It is shockingly fast and the rolling release updates are great.

The IMDB reviews for The Idol were so bad (4.7 and falling) that I just had to watch it.
There was some real potential here and many good moments. I was often entranced with the atmosphere of the production.
Depp is a hard sell as a Britney type. Her aristocratic supermodel type look is just not right for the role. She can act but doesn't seem like an actual pop star.
Many characters suddenly change in episode 4 which felt forced and unreal.
There is one girl, Chloe, who is genuinely talented but Izzac (sp?) is no Prince (lol) and the whole band of gypsy artist kids is pretty lame.
The ending is just awful. There is this weak-ass twist that just absolutely fails.
I'd say it deserves a 6, maybe 6.4.

I have used Tdex and SideSwap for peg-ins. Tdex does a "real" peg-in every time, forcing you to wait 102 blocks whereas SS will handle small amounts instantly, which I assume they use their own balance for. I generally use SS myself although I prefer to hold funds in GreenQT.

Today I did the recycling.
I took the pickup on a diesel ferry to the main island and drove 40km to recycle some glass jars and a busted compressor.
Back in town I had to hit two thrift stores 20km apart to unload some old clothes and books.
It took me 30 mins of driving in circles to find the place where I could recycle a vacuum and some old routers.
Now back to the island after wasting half a day and a tonne of fuel.
This is apparently the best place on earth.

Yeah that was what I thought at first glance but they're actually like a Robertson screw first with Phillips as a weak second option. The fit on the R bit is perfect, holds snug without magnetism. I actually have worn out some real R screws in less time than these ones are lasting. Better metal I guess.

These are the two most common screws in the RV. I have probably re-used each of these fasteners multiple times already during my perpetual renovations.
All I'm saying is that if they were straight up Phillips I would have stripped them long ago but with the Robertson option they remain useful.
Both are self drilling too, very handy.

Agree generally, but the Phillips type screw is so common that I have accepted that I must deal with it. As a result I mainly use a 12v screwdriver by Bosch with excellent speed control and some incredibly low torque settings. It's also powerful enough to drive a 2" hole saw through 1\2" plywood. The small size is great for tight spaces.
My RV has these screws which accept either Phillips or Robertson which is a decent compromise. Obviously I use Robertson with those.
The Wowstick micro driver is also pretty handy for working on laptops and the Raspberry Pi but it has no torque control so you need to hold it loosly enough to spin in your grip at the desired torque. Needs a manual driver to unstick tight screws first too, but it's a timesaver.

How great are the minds building CBDC's? My feeling is that no great mind in software engineering would touch those projects with a 10 foot pole.
How many great engineers are passionate about giving governments even more control over the money supply? How many are excited about money which expires?
The minds behind CBDCs are as ignorant about software as most amateur entrepreneurs are—they see engineers only as low-level contractors. Truly disruptive software is built by engineers working in isolation with complete control over their vision. No great piece of software began in the mind of a politician or a banker.
The bar for CBDCs to disrupt money as we know it is the same as for any other shitcoin trying to disrupt bitcoin—they must be at least 10x better.
CBDCs will fail to gain popular adoption until some brilliant engineer working alone creates one with the belief that his work will save the world. I just don't see that happening.
