Since I'm starting to eat good and it's on my mind fairly regularly right now I decided to pull up an old before and after picture of myself from the last time I lost a pile of weight.
The guy on the left was 365 pounds. The guy on the right was 225. I'm starting again at 389 pounds and I have been over 400 pounds recently. My scale tops out at 400 pounds so I'm guessing 410.

@npub14j7…w660 I've watched a lot of his stuff. I've done keto that was 98% carnivore before. I'm just basically cutting out the occasional side of mushrooms and onions with my steak and some creamed spinach every once in a while.

Another reason NAS is better.
I tried to post something on the carnivore subreddit. Just had a real quick question but the post was rejected for being too short. I was only short by 10 characters (seriously) so I just added some words.
Resubmitted and was rejected for using the word 'mushroom'. Reworded, resubmitted. Rejected for using the words 'olive oil.'
So I'm just not going to post. Censorship at work!

Any tire experts on NAS?
I'm looking for the best winter tires for an SUV. I have Pirelli Scorpion AS 3s for the summer and I really like how comfortable and quiet they are. I was thinking of getting the Winter Scorpions but I see that X-Ice, Blizzak, VikingContact 7, etc... seem to be rated higher. Size is 235/65R17. I'm not really worried about price. I don't need a $99 Wal-Mart special and I don't really want to spend $500 per tire but I'm open to suggestions.

@npub1p3w…drgj @npub1nst…qpra Two fiction podcasts I used to listen to both brought in their hatred for Trump and I immediately stopped listening to them. I have no room for real world garbage in my fiction.
I knew both shows were put on by liberals, probably a lot of far left liberals, but I never let it bother me until they brought real life in to it.

@npub1p3w…drgj @npub1nst…qpra I always feel a little dumb with stuff like this. Fiction, mainly. Does it have a cool story? Yeah. Neat magic? Yep. Do people poke other people with swords sometimes? They do.
Okay. I'm sold.
I can go on and on and on about this stuff in the real world where it matters but when it comes to fiction, books, movies, TV... I just can't be bothered. I consume fiction because it isn't important. I just have fun with it.

@npub1nst…qpra I guess I had kind of expected that.
The books series was started 30+ years ago by a white male Christian. That's not going to play for today's audience.
Amp up the "women are in charge" thing so the 'woke' can stick it to men, add a few rowdy drunks. Doesn't bother me too much.
Even the books had the Coplands, the Congars and Cenn Buie to stir up trouble at first.

They added a few little 'woke' notes in there and it wasn't a faithful recreation of the books but I liked it overall.

@npub1d4h…2ta7 I agree. And I honestly kind of get it. It's like the climate change/COVID people who sincerely believe in it. They aren't evil, they're just bought in 100%.
Woowoo spirit people literally think they are in tune with the spirit of the trees or some such garbage. Imagine if you sincerely thought that. You'd be full if yourself, too.
Also works for a lot of vegans. Militant vegans, I call them.

When I didn't have money I used to think "Why would I buy (brand name) when the Walmart ones are the same thing."
I don't mean buying a pair of Jordans or Yeezys for $1000 but I mean an $80 or $130 pair of shoes from a proper store vs $25 at Walmart.
Now that I'm quite a bit better off I realise that they aren't worth $130 but my feet don't get sore when I wear them and they last me years.
I just got another reminder of that. I got glasses recently and I can never get them clean. Continued..

@npub1dqj…8t50 The frustrating part is I don't know if I would have needed an appraisal or not. She tried to force through an amount four times bigger than we wanted and it triggered an appraisal. She tried to lower it to the proper amount and it still asked for an appraisal.
I don't know if it would have asked for an appraisal at the lower amount anyway or if once it's triggered, it's triggered no matter what. She said she can't cancel it on her end so that makes me think this is the case.

@npub1dqj…8t50 I'm not prone to anxiety but I have all the financial responsibility in my family. If my son goes to school dressed like a hobo, that's my wife's fault. If we don't have any money, it's my fault. Not really but we have things each of us is good at handling.
I very quickly went from telling the contractor that the bank is taking a long time, to worrying that the house is going to be taken away.

@npub1dqj…8t50 Yeah, the tax appraisal went up $20,000 last year but it still assessed at over $100,000 less than I need to get the money. But like you said, they just look at the market and sit in the driveway. The house is much more impressive on the inside. I think the $20,000 is the housing market.
I just got the bathroom and the kitchen completely gutted and redone. I'd love for them to come in and see that. Is that something I can request or just give them a list of renovation? Pictures?

Does anyone have any tips on this appraisal. My basement is unfinished and pretty much a mess. The house needs a pressure washing and my lawn is usually not kept very well.
I'm assuming all that stuff will need to be handled.
We still haven't bought any curtains for the living room or blinds for the kitchen since the renos.
Does that kind of stuff matter to them? Should I bake cookies like I'm a realtor?
Any other tips and tricks?

I'm screwed and I need help. We did renovations and I need to borrow money to pay the contractor. It shouldn't have been a big issue but the bank screwed up and put in that we were asking for almost four times as much money. That triggered a request to do an appraisal. Now it doesn't matter what I try to get, the system forces and appraisal.
I think she just screwed me and she's lying to cover herself but I can't focus on that at the moment. I need to get this money before the contractor sues.
