'Be open minded and curious about socialism', they say. 'Don't be dogmatic', they say. Apparently those who oppose socialism haven't read the literature and is dumb and illiterate.
How about lived experience?
The first prime minister of India was a Fabian socialist. So was his daughter, who was an influential prime minister that went full-blown socialist at one point and nationalised the entire banking system and even briefly suspended democracy. She even unconstitutionally inserted the word 'Socialist' in the preamble of the country's constitution, which means libertarian or classical liberal parties could be deemed unconstitutional.
The country has never known an era without the existence of government monopoly of money and central banking. It has not experienced classical liberalism or neoliberalism on the economic front. It was being exploited and plundered during the European enlightenment era. It has not known an age without taxes. Property rights, leave alone natural rights are almost non-existent socially, politically or legally.
The very first amendment to the constitution infringed upon its people's fundamental rights and introduced the non-sensical concept of being subject to reasonable restrictions.
The country's economic history has been filled with theft of private property, wealth and resources by the government in the name of social justice, wealth redistribution, demonetisation, anti-corruption, economic equality, infrastructure development and national security.
The country had a brief period between 1991-2011 when meaningful free market reforms took place, which is the reason we have had a semblance of economic growth. They did not go far enough and failed miserably.
The current prime minister who is supposedly 'right wing' and extremely popular is also a socialist if you take a look at his economic policies. Freebie, subsidies, high debt and rampant spending is the norm.
Possibly the only good free market legislation in the farming sector his government passed was repealed. They didn't follow proper democratic processes and actually explain it to people, resulting in widespread protests. They have failed to privatise or disinvest at an impactful rate and have filled the upper echelons of the state and party machinery with a bunch of Yes Men.
Majority of the country continues to rely on Government handouts, while those who are productive get their incomes stolen.
Nobody knows what the actual inflation rate is. But everybody knows that everything is getting expensive.
Corporatism is rampant. Regulatory capture is obvious. Companies that aren't friends with the ruling disposition get selectively raided for tax violations by government agencies.
Early-stage companies in a handful of cities in a handful of industries receiving foreign VC money during an environment where interest rates were artificially low or even negative in their countries is not a meaningful indicator of economic growth or prosperity.
Neither is an incomplete metric like the GDP whose measurement methods are constantly tweaked and obfuscated.
People are suffering and the widely-held belief is one of delusion as a result of mainstream media psyop or resignation as a result of understanding the misaligned incentives to change.
The current opposition is also openly socialist, constantly calling for more government spending, subsidies and affirmative action.
There is no social, legal or political movement that has individual liberty and economic freedom as its raison d'etre.
Anyone who calls themselves a liberal is a closeted statist who only want to use the legal and political system to coerce people into abiding by their vision of the world.
'Open-minded'.

I've experienced Socialism enough to know that it is demoralising, inefficient, divisive and demeaning to human nature and its aims of life, liberty and property.
Bitcoin is the way.
Capitalism is the way.
Freedom is the way.

Neither am I. And I do not see a decline in capitalism in the coming years.
That's not the effect that Bitcoin or other technological innovations will have on the global economy, according to me.
I want to establish two things first.
1. Scarcity exists.
Land is scarce.
Our time is scarce because we are mortal.
Our energy is scarce because of our physical limitations.
The resources available to us are scarce.
2. We are not aimless, meaningless creatures.
All of us have aims, needs and goals in life.
I certainly do.
Nobody wants to suffer voluntarily.
But because scarcity exists, all of us cannot do everything we want to all at once. We need to prioritise the things each of us will do in order to achieve our aims, needs and goals in life.
We need to 'value' certain things more than others, i.e. prices.
To acquire the means to achieve our aims, needs and goals in life, we need to produce things that others will value.
Our time, resources and land will always be factors of this production process, even if our energy in the form of labour becomes less so because of technological progress.
Which means we need an effective way to value them and deploy them i.e. money.
The form of money we use is up to our own individual calculations and judgements about the one that will do it the most effectively. For me, it is Bitcoin. For others, it might be different and that's okay.
In order to effectively deploy these factors of production, we need to be able to make decisions about how to deploy them and exchange them according to our value judgements and calculations. We need ownership of these things.
We need to own our time, energy, land and resources.
But not everyone can own everything because every single individual has different aims, goals and needs in life. They are also born under different circumstances which means they will value things differently.
If everyone owns everything and everything is scarce, there will inevitably emerge an entity that people outsource the problem of appropriation and distribution to.
But this entity can never have complete knowledge of the aims, goals and needs in life and the circumstances and valuations of everyone.
As a result, the decisions this entity takes will always end up with a situation where the aims, goals and needs in life of a large number of people will go unfulfilled, causing conflict, misery and suffering. Circumstances are not empathised with and valuations become distorted.
This is why private ownership of the factors of production is more effective i.e. private property.
Abundance in production, technological deflation and prices of produce going down will not mean people stop working for profits, incomes, their aims, goals and needs in life.
It will not mean that the need for private property will go away.
It will just mean the means to acquire private property will become cheaper.
It means more people will be prosperous and well off.
Their pursuit of aims, goals and needs in life becomes a lot easier.
Money, prices and private property are three of the many things that are integral to the capitalist system.
They are not going away, because they are effective.
So Capitalism is not going away.
If one wants to be communist, they are free to be a communist. They are free to acquire a huge plot of land through voluntary exchange and peaceful cooperation, invite their fellow comrades and live in that area as if its their own and engage in pursuits that satisfy their aims, goals and needs in life.
That doesn't mean I will accept people coercing and aggressing on my natural rights.
I won't give up my time, energy, resources and property unless it satisfies my needs, goals and aims in life.
Regarding Bitcoin being harbinger of a communist world:
Bitcoin merely makes one thing better among money, prices and private property in my view and is only a part of the solution.
Because even on a Bitcoin standard and an age of technological abundance, there will be forces that distort price signals, violate property rights, exercise coercion and violently aggress on people's lives and liberties.
A social, political and legal order in which voluntary exchange, peaceful cooperation, a mutual respect of the natural rights to life, liberty and property of fellow men and women is the norm will be more accommodative to keep these forces in check.
In theory, the social, political and legal order that exists in most liberal democracies in the world right now can accommodate this. It emerged from the ideas of classical liberal thinkers during the age of enlightenment.
If anything, what I believe is coming and hope will come is a second age of enlightenment.

I think we're in late stage socialism.
I can see it in the emptiness of Globalist organisations, attempts at creating CBDCs and mandating digital IDs, increasingly out-of-touch nature of politics, extreme and unnecessary mainstream media alarmism for solvable problems with workable solutions.
Bitcoin, cryptography, the internet and software in general will drastically reduce the role of government in people's lives, if not entirely eliminate it. It's inevitable, if one looks at the incentives.
I'd say we are in the very early stages of a capitalist renaissance and possibly a second enlightenment era.
I see two obstacles:
1. Fiat money and Central Banking
2. Being able to access the internet without relying on ISP's/setting up ISP's without Government permission

I can relate.
Living in a society where Socialism has taken hold, the idea of individual freedom and personal responsibility can be hard to make a case for, because people haven't yet learnt to articulate and conceptualise enlightenment era values. It's a never-ending fight with tyrrany because the social order isn't enlightened enough to respect the right to life, liberty and property of people, so it's easy to justify government overreach in the name of protecting these rights.
And besides, my country has never known an era of the gold standard or free banking, so laissez-faire is even harder to make a case for too.
I've recently understood that embracing enlightenment values are a precursor for a society to 'get' Bitcoin. If a society can't respect natural law and understand that each individual has natural rights, then it will never be a free society.
The way to go about it imo is argument, reason, debate and education. It has to make sense and as Vaclav Havel would say, be aligned with the aims of life of individuals and let them live within the truth.
I just do little things like share few memes on the social channels I use to interact with my community everyday, recommend intellectuals like Hayek, Friedman, Sowell, Mises, Locke, Rothbard, Bastiat, etc. I share books, talks or lectures that make a case for individual liberty and economic freedom, throw in content about Bitcoin and Nostr.
I realise as I right this that this is mostly how I have been spending my free time during 2024.
It isn't much, but it's honest work.

Like every other price signal, the price of Bitcoin or any other monetary good like the Rupee or Gold is the market signalling to economic actors how these goods are being valued relative to other goods and services.
It is a signal that informs them how much to spend, save, consume or produce.
Won’t the interference of Central banks in the forex market or the credit market to achieve said stability result in distortions in the value of money itself, alter the total supply of money, resulting in indirect price distortions in other goods and services as well?

I see the real divide as being between
1) Statists/socialists/collectivists who want to violate the natural rights to life, liberty and property of others through coercion or aggression to achieve their goals.
2) Anarchists/libertarians/individualists who do not want to aggress on another person's natural rights and want a spontaneous order to emerge from peaceful cooperation and voluntary exchange.
People in both camps can be welcoming or exclusionary, but their political position only matters when the question of how they treat people's natural rights comes up.
Even though it can be for both camps thanks to its neutrality, Bitcoin is most likely for those in the second camp more than the first because the scales are tipped towards the first camp more than ever thanks to fiat money. Bitcoin is a powerful tool for those in the second camp to live the way they want to.

This impacts mostly exchange rates and those who engage in foreign trade.
My point is nobody I know uses USD as a currency to save, transact and measure value.
Besides, the devaluation of the Rupee in India has more to do with the actions of the Indian govt than a foreign entity. Debt issuance, deficit spending, lowering of benchmark interest rates by RBI, stimulatory monetary policy play bigger roles than what the US did. Forex is a factor, sure. But one of many.

Not a single person in my economic network in India use USD-backed stablecoins or the US Dollar.
Everyone uses the Indian Rupee.
Hundreds of millions of people have access to digital payments over this state-run payments protocol called the UPI, which is nearly ubiquitous.
UPI is far more accountable to Indians than Tether or Circle will ever be.
The Rupee doesn't depreciate rapidly enough vs the Dollar for people to consider USD as a store of value.
Bitcoin is the real alternative.
US Dollars are irrelevant in India's local economy.

Can you point me to similar essays/books/authors? Ones that make a case for classical liberalism/libertarianism as a solution to identity-based conflict.
I live in a country that is communally, culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse. This can be a breeding ground for the dangerous and false notion that everything is about power and oppression, leading to unnecessary and perpetual conflict.
I want to be able to articulate a case that a system that respects natural rights to life, liberty and property; treats people equally in front of the law to ensure them just treatment; enables voluntary exchange and free trade; promotes non-aggression; is the solution that will benefit everyone, irrespective of what their identity is.

It's because people have a limited amount of time in a day and they likely wouldn't want to repeat the foundations of their position to everyone they meet.
This is why we divide sets of ideas into schools of thought so that we can build on them instead of starting from scratch. Kind of like SDK's for ideas to which we can add our own creative thinking.
Also, repeated questions in a private conversation makes sense, but in public, it can give the other person suspicion that you are doing it just to put their ideas down in front of other people, even if you do it in good faith.

I would do the following:
1) Understand that there is either a miscommunication or a difference in values. Try to figure out what they are.
2) Next step is to make an attempt at building a bridge with the other individual.
3) If that doesn't work and if people are watching and listening, present arguments for the benefit of those people in a rational way and step aside once that's done.
4) If no one is watching and bridges can't be built, abandon the conversation immediately and move on.

Gen Z Indians need to redefine what 'Black money' and 'White money' mean and break free from generations of socialist brainwashing.

Nope. People should be free to use the currency they want to, even though I personally prefer to use Bitcoin.
Legal tender laws are bad.
The solution is no legislation at all because the Government should not interfere with the market discovery process of choosing the best monetary good.
