I live in a hilly area with a lot of tree so that is probably a good thing and a bad thing sometimes.
For a background, I just bought these when they were trying to pass a law or did pass a law that only licensed operators could buy HAM radios and bought them before it was supposed to pass just in case. I heard the baofengs were decent starter radios and figured I'd mess around with them and upgrade later on after I got my license. I watched some videos and read a little before buying the specific models I bought but it's been probably 4 or 5 years now so I don't remember my reasoning for getting those models.
As far as antennas go, I was thinking the same as you - buy a nice antenna now and upgrade the radios later and keep using the good antenna. I have a mounting kit to mount a roof rack on my SUV and was planning on hard mounting it to the roof rack but getting on that can fold down for when I drive through the forest so it doesn't smack around into the trees. I also thought about getting a magnetic one and making water tight quick connects and heyco grommets for it so I could remove it when I'm not using it. Haven't tried to use the one in my SUV yet because I've heard it is bad to try and transmit without an antenna and I don't have the cable and CHIRP program to upload the frequencies to it.
What I'm wanting to do is buy a nice setup for home, one for my SUV, and have a couple of handhelds to use and use my baofengs as a backup or give them to someone else until they get a better setup. Are there any specific bands/frequencies I need to make sure that my radios are compatible with?
I'm pretty sure that there are repeater stations that I can program into my radios but I'd like to have something with some reach just in case those repeaters or some of them go down during a SHTF situation. I figure a lot of HAM operators probably are preppers too now and have backup generators and such though.
This stuff isn't super complicated but it is definitely not something you're going to learn on the fly if SHTF so I want to practice and maybe get licensed so I'm comfortable using it before I actually need to use it.
There is a guy on YouTube called "Risky Chrisky" that has some interesting HAM/communication videos but I've only seen a few of his videos.
Sounds like I'll just look into getting Yaesu or Kenwood since I think they're both made in Japan and good quality. Probably Yaesu over Kenwood since you said they're more durable right?

I need to get a home station setup. Right now I just have a baofeng ready to be mounted in my SUV (UV-25X2), I just need an antenna, and 3-4 handheld baofengs. One for myself, a BF-F8HP and some to handout to my family members or others just in case, BF-UV5R or something like that.
There is a USB adapter to program them I need to buy and a program I have downloaded that I need to play around with too. I've considered getting some extra batteries and maybe antenna upgrades or something although I'm thinking it might be smart to not sink too much money into the baofengs.
I may end up upgrading one day but I'm not sure what brands are worth spending good money on and what I should get. I hear Yaesu and Kenwood are good. I'd prefer to buy American made if possible and European/Japanese if not.
For a home base setup I'd like to get something that isn't too big and doesn't need a huge, super obvious antenna. Preferably not real expensive either if it is possible.
What do you think about all that?

I got some baofeng radios when they were talking about banning sale to unlicensed ham operators so I'm kinda interested in that type of stuff.
Might get my license next year if only for the practice it will give me in being proficient at it before I actually need to use it. It'd be a very steep learning curve to try and learn it during a "SHTF" type of situation.

The EU may not be responsible for much of anything power wise but they protect things with food purity laws. If you want to say that the individual countries are more responsible for that then I'll take your word for it. Either way it proves that it isn't the regulatory agencies that are the issue, it is the people paying them off and subverting them since Europe doesn't seem to have as big of an issue with that and their regulatory agencies that America does.

They're well made and the shape seems like it would be fairly ergonomic too.
As far as pocket knives go there are really only two that I want right now, the Benchmade "Narrows" and the Pro-Tech Strider automatic.
There is another company who makes super nice titanium frame folders but they have a 3-4 year waitlist I think. Can't remember the name but I bet you know which one I'm talking about. I think maybe it starts with a "W" but I could be wrong.

I like the one above with the green/greyish looking scale and the other one is pretty cool too.
I'll probably only buy an auto opening Strider though because I don't like knives that have mismatched sides due to one side being the folding lock bar which is metal and the side being the scale cover.
I like symmetry and it just bugs me a little. Good knives though. The one I was looking at was a traditional styled blade and not tanto. I had one or two tanto blades, a Kershaw Blur assisted opening and a Benchmade mini Griptillian, and switched back to field point or whatever it is called.
Tanto points look cool for sure but are slightly more difficult to sharpen.

It has to be equally as bad at bare minimum pun intended.
When camping and overlanding got real big during covid and people were also talking about how great bidets were I think someone made some bidets made for camping but I don't know how well they worked or if they even sold very many of them.
Wet wipes and burying it all are the best method I've found but you don't want to make a latrine that you're going to use all the time close to a semi permanent or permanent camp for sanitary reasons.

I'm here because I figured out I was on the wrong path and making mistakes and wondered what kind of world and who would it make it so easy and even push people into making mistakes.
Then I started reading the bible again, this time seriously and start to finish how it should be read and not skipping around and taking verses out of context like so many preachers today love to do. I don't think at all that this is what Turk was doing, probably just stating that he really agrees with one of the things listed in the second verse I think. Anyhow, once I figured out that the jews were behind so much of the misery mankind is experiencing these days and that according to the bible they actually ARE NOT "God's chosen people" and are instead "chosen" to burn in hell for their hatred of Christ and all that is good in this world (but I repeat myself) I ended up around like minded people.

Pretty much, and American car companies could have built that stuff as well or better if they had wanted to but their mindset wasn't to make what people wanted, instead it was to make whatever they could have the highest profit margin on and then try and convince the American consumer that it was what they wanted.
Ford built plenty of 4cylinder engines that got fuel mileage and were reliable, it's just that sometimes they didn't worry about some of the other aspects like the Japanese and Germans did.

I quit soda cold turkey but it was harder than quitting nicotine or anything else.
Try cane sugar stuff instead of HFC but fake sugars are equally as bad if not worse than HFC.
Also, you'll hit your goal eventually. The important thing is to keep exercising and not take too long of a break. You're still doing better than most of the people who aren't working out.

Yeah, I really hate them.

I don't mind smaller amounts of people living in different countries because it is a little unrealistic to have a completely pure country but there ought to be laws that limit the founding stock to not dipping below 80%-90% and if the others want to come then they can come on a vacation and go back home.
The animosity between races comes from people feeling threatened in some way by other groups. Resources, economics, male/female partners, etc. (all resources in one way or another when it comes down to it) and there has to be a way we can all live peacefully and it isn't impossible if we tried.

I've seen the immigrants who were pushed into it by their family pressures and they did not make for good students usually.
I respect them wanting to better themselves but the Asian parents (indians and pinoys a lot of the time have no business even trying and their culture is super dishonest anyways which leads to other bad outcomes) should tell their children to pick what they want and be the best at it instead of pushing them into fields that they'll only be mediocre at due to lack of passion.
The second part worries me and I sorta understand it but they need to hire more nurses instead of trying to run lean staffing wise to save money. They make MORE than enough money as it is and the scumbag hospital administrators make more money than even doctors do when they should make less than nurses due to the fact that their services are of lesser value.
