That is not accurate, there are multiple granite beams in the kings chamber that are in excess of 100 tons.
That stone in Lebanon is over 1200 tons.
We could lift it using some of the highest capacity cranes in the world now but it would be a massive undertaking.
Difficult, but not impossible with todays technology. To me the takeaway here is that we are just now getting to the point where we can move some of these stones yet clearly they were doing it back in the day. The question is how, it certainly wasn’t horse hair ropes and slaves I know that much lol.

The, “hand cut and moved + a lot of slaves” does not explain a plethora of evidence for advanced capabilities to work granite.
You don’t get circular saw marks, hole saw cuts, and precision down to .00001 an inch with hard labor and elbow grease.
You also don’t need precision like that without some sort of functionality.
If it was just a tomb then it wouldn’t have been as well built as it was. The internal structure of the, “kings chamber” is perfectly square, and perfectly flat. none of the actual dynastic Egyptian temples have anything close to the same level of precision.

That’s not true, look at how much things deteriorate after just 100 years.
Anything made of metal 5000+ years ago would be dust by now. The only thing that lasts that long is stone.
No amount of slaves with chisels will make marks like this in granite. It requires a circular saw. I’m not claiming crystal powered space ships here. In order to have conviction one must have certainty that there is a future worth building towards even if they won’t live long enough to see it. Hard money standards allow for buildings of this quality. I often wonder what monetary standard was used when they built the pyramids.

So I’ve seen a lot of random shit on these fires in Hawaii. Anyone here have a take on it all? As usual with these kinds of things you have all manner of different explanations for what caused them/ why.
Hard to figure out what’s actually true but they are blocking off large sections of the area now and there is what seems to be a larger than normal police presence trying to prevent people from filming which has at least peaked my interest.
So yea, anyone have a take on it all?

That’s fair, I wasn’t familiar with anyone running the project so my intro was just seeing a relatively clean client that had some cool (in theory) feeds.
Would be interesting to see someone replicate their client but actually have feeds without shadow banning to show how much they are manipulating things 😂

The amount of people that run businesses, clients, projects, etc… that don’t understand how to manage PR or customer relations amazes me.
It’s not hard to be transparent.
It’s not hard to do the right thing.
In the long run doing those things even if it’s painful in the short term will always lead to better outcomes.
I thought primal was cool when I first came across it, but they quickly lost my trust, and for that reason I won’t use the client 🤷‍♂️

I don’t think many people understand how illiquid the housing market is right now.
I wasn’t old enough to care what was happening in 2008 but I will say living through what seems very similar to what happened then is giving me an appreciation for just how slow it feels like things are moving when you already know things are out of oil but just haven’t broken yet lol

I have yet to hear someone explain them simply/ coherently, and for that reason I’m out.
L2 makes intuitive sense to me. Lightning wasn’t a big jump to understand when I first heard about it but so far drive chains seem like an attempt to force shitcoinery into bitcoin.

I think allowing people to pay to post in an, “Other” category could help support the decentralized marketplace and would also be a catch all for things not on this list.
There is an obvious potential issue of illegal content in some jurisdictions but idk how you would solve for that.

I’ll start this by saying I’m not a developer so I don’t truly know why someone hasn’t implemented saylors orange check yet but IMO it’s an easy way to stop spam that is unbiased.
People won’t be able to pay to trend, (spamming zaps) too many times because they will eventually run out of money. Sure it’s early so it’s relatively cheap to do for now but I don’t see this being the end case.
Regardless people are not upset by you trying to stop spam, they are upset by the lack of transparency or perceived lack of transparency. If you had a primal feed where people had to put up some sats to be displayed I’m sure they would use it. Then have your non filtered feed where anything goes. Let people pick for themselves and they will be happy. Pick for them and they will leave your platform. Specially anyone that’s here now, the current nostr users are going to be even more adverse to any kind of filtering than future users will be so as a developer you must be particularly sensitive to perceptions around censorship IMO.

Something like this will allow you to store the most in the smallest amount of space. Even if you’re drinking plenty of water you’ll need to keep your sodium and potassium up or you’ll still get fatigue and cramping.
