These issues are all interconnected. But I am mostly concerned with code sabotage and institutional reliability (bitcoin Devs and Ops and the servers they maintain are the institutions). From this everything else is derived. If less people trust bitcoin then the purchasing power drops. This can be done through code sabotage and influencers amplifying FUD and other bollocks (like monkey jpegs on the blockchain).
Politics play their own game and politicians are experienced with this. Up until bitcoin the state and the military industrial complex was concerned with defending our property. With bitcoin we put our eggs in another basket. They lose the grip of their power. But they still have the guns, bombs and kompromat.

My point is since the beginning of this thread: we will always trust / consent to a minority with our lives savings.
The bitcoin elites have just less incentives /possibilities to do something bad compared to fiat central banking elites. But they have the option to act in bad faith.

I like the kind ID. Since it is just json instead of e.g. uint16 its a bit counter intuitive.
But you need to look up a ID instead of just inventing your own tag (or worst of all: namespaced tags) for your protocol. This has a huge impact on how new kinds are discovered.

Die Wagenknecht hat sich schon an der österreichischen Schule abgearbeitet, konnte im großen und ganzen dagegen aber nichts erwidern. Sie sieht sich selbst zwar als Sozialistin, im Kern sind ihre Positionen aber deutlich reaktionärer als links. Sie hat meines Erachtens schon richtig erkannt, dass den Eliten der merkantilen Kaste der moralische Kompass fehlt. Darauf hat der Liberalismus in letzter Konsequenz auch keine Antwort außer "das regelt der Markt". tl;dr: no, this is not how christianity works. the sadim-effect of the state will only corrupt or impede Christianity.
Christianity is international. A nationality is a set of rules, customs and genes of a group of people in a certain area. Applying Christian morals to a nation makes it better, because the people start to strive for the transcendent, and remove the sources of their bad behavior (sins) from their nation. As e.g. Gaetano Mosca discovered, but his research takes not into account the most ridiculous Protestant heresies. Also the non or lukewarm Christian branches of a nation will be crushed by the tides of time (see Spengler's theory of cyclical history).
Strictly speaking we don't have nations anymore. For example Germans are scattered all around the world. You'll find them in the US, Latin America, Pacific, Australia, dark side of the moon... Also Germany itself is not mono culture anymore.
Each different kind of people bring their own set of rules, customs etc. However, we still have secular states which enforce the rules necessary for a peaceful society.
A Christian Nationalist Government would need to apply and enforce the rules found (= Rule by force). But this is not how the church works because ruling elites come and go (and with them their set of written down rules). I personally think Christian ruling elites would be better than secular ruling elites, since the former would try to improve the country instead of leeching off resources. But these elites will come by themself thru the tides of time.
Right now Christian nationalism in the West is a pipedream and a waste of time. The broader western world enters a civilisatory winter (see Spengler). If you want Christianity around you: be the first one. repent, get baptized, received the sacraments of the church, read in the life's of saints and live your life. The salvation of your soul is more important than petty politics.

It has enough privacy in my opinion. I don't want to trade drugs and weapons with it and I don't think of myself as an enemy of the state but as a bureaucrat in the kingdom to come. In the far future Bitcoin lightning will fuel the banking system (this is already similar to lighting, but any participant is required to be licensed and everyone cheats) and nations will issue Bitcoin backed money (e.g. using ecash or the like). Legal tax evasion and subsidy maximization is a modern form of social engineering of a society. And this is a good thing!
A technocracy needs technocrats to manage these complex systems. This is the reason you don't get sick from the tap water here for example.
The tax declaration needs to be that complex to weed out the idiots who cannot min-max their tax declaration, either by "behind the doors deals" with the tax office or by elegant usage of law loopholes. Coding needs to be a religious act
When we create software we try to make it safe, reproducible, decentralized, user centered, reusable, etc.
These are all first order principles, which we've found thru trial and error. Software we built on these principles is more resilient against the ups and downs of the cyberspace. Or will not blow up in our faces etc. There's a full field in CompSci dedicated to this: Requirement engineering.
If we lessen the bar and fail to create software according to the right principles, this might bite us in mysterious and convoluted ways.
This might feel counter intuitive, but we need to tread software development as a holy act.
I don't say that we cannot make any mistakes anymore, but should hesitate to make decisions which are from wrong principles.
I think religious people will understand what I mean.
Nostr as an example:
Why nostr? Why not mastodon? Or just use X, parler or whatever? (Or ethereum instead of Bitcoin etc. The particular software is not that important)
Why develop yet another software to scream into the void?
Because nostr* is built on other first order principles than X or mastodon etc. You cannot have mastodon like nostr. This is totally different software.
now let's fast forward a couple of year's (e.g. 100 or so) and assume a sun storm or world war did not threw us back into medieval times.
Will the coders still be able to see the first order principles Bitcoin and nostr was built from? Will they see beauty in the algorithms as we see? I doubt it. How can we raise the next generation to not run Bitcoin into the ground, but to make the technological society prosper (and not enslave us all). IMHO our successors must threat their work as holy. Then they won't try shortcuts or are lazy when they ship the software.
If you want to transfer the right principles thru the ages you have to get religious. You cannot just hand over a manual on software development to the next generation since the understanding of language will change. Or they won't read it, since reading is boring. Or will read the manual,
but misunderstand it in subtle ways.
One could now argue that this is fine - we all make mistakes and at the end our whole life is trial and error. But we don't need to repeat all the mistakes our ancestors did. In the short time we got in this world any progress is not possible, if we all need to start from 0 again.
I think most of the software will ossify - but still... Someone has to run and understand the technology. We cannot just rely on the servers to run forever or the smartphone to work always.
* yes, I know that I mix up a protocol (nostr) and a software (mastodon) here. I could also talk about nostr and activityhub or amethyst and mastodon instead. But for the argument the particular software does not matter.

Yes, you where alerted. But just because there are enough vigilant people who keep a close eye on their IT. People who do this are part of a minority.
My train of thought goes like the following:
1) If less people trust the central banking and instead shift their funds to Bitcoin, they trust just another elite (not bankers, but coders).
2) the Bitcoin infrastructure runs on servers. controlled by people, maintained by people and the tools provided by people. This is the new elite and it is a minority.
3) you cannot take this for granted. Neither that the IT guys will remain always vigilant, nor do we know about the backdoors we weren't alerted to.
Bitcoinization puts a high burden on the new elite (the coders, you and I). Because everyone uses software, but only a small amount is paranoid enough to not blindly trust the electronic devices. these devices are now not only used to shitpost on the internet anymore, but also used to manage life's savings.
I am not sure if we know that we're getting ennobled. For example: concerning technology, my non techie friends won't go into this depth, but rather trust my judgement of what technology to use. I also can just understand the devices I use to a certain degree. After that comes trust in the judgement of other people. I can only hope that I trust in the right people and not get betrayed, because downstream from my decisions are my friends who trust my judgement.

You don't understand me. My point is: most people will always trust a minority of humans with their money. We can just decide whom minority we trust more.
The maintainers could have added malicious code to the pre build binary images which is executed in 10 years or something. Or they could enable auto updates in a sneaky way or something. Did you verify that?
But most people won't do that. They trust the devs in good faith to not go rogue, or that the bad behavior is detected soon enough.

I know Bitcoin pretty well. I am not trolling. The though I currently play with is that there is always a minority of people we trust our funds with: either the government and the central banks (which are - in the end - organizations of humans) or algorithms, which run on computers. We can just decide whom we trust more, if we buy Bitcoin with fiat we reveal that we trust the Bitcoin elite more than the central bank elite.
However ... the bitcoin code is written and maintained by _humans_, and the nodes are also operated by humans. All the electronics are just helpful, we can also do the Bitcoin algorithm on paper, but it won't be feasible.
You say "if they sent a bad update I would not use it" great, but what about the not-that-tech-savy guy, who just runs his raspiblitz, umbrel node, or has bought a node from blockstream or whatever? Probably with auto updates enabled. Practically the node is then not operated by the not-that-tech-savy guy - it just runs in his closet or something - but is operated by the maintainers of raspiblitz, umbrel, or whomever.

Yes, I know. But IMHO all of this is just an algorithm/code, maybe an organized minority could change the algorithm. And use Raspiblitz and Umbrel to attack the consent mechanism.
Either way, you put trust in the developers of Bitcoin core, Raspiblitz and umbrel to not ship a malicious update. Or that enough node operators have disabled updates.

By buying Bitcoin you make a revealed preference that Bitcoin is more worth for you right now than dollar or euro. However, both systems are governed by a minority. The Bitcoin core-, raspiblitz-, umbrel-, etc. devs and node operators are just another elite. Similar to the Fed or ECB. Thus you also make a revealed preference that you trust these people more than the people from the fed or ECB.

Orthodox churches in the west are mostly run by expats from Orthodox countries. They just kept it in their language. For example, if you visit a Russian Orthodox church, the liturgy will be in Russian and church slawonic. If you visit a Georgian church, the liturgy will be in Georgian etc.
This is different to the TLM. There's everything in latin, everywhere. But for orthodoxy (as well as for protestantism) it is more common to have the liturgy in the country's language.

In terms of priests or influencers you should stick to one denomination. It is not a good idea to listen to different priests or preachers from across the christian religions. This might be confusing, since you might get a lot of different interpretations of the scriptures.
Also you should stick to the one "near to you" i.e. if you're in USA, "Saint Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church, Stafford Va" might be one for you.
Father Spyridon is a good fit for people from the British Island I think.
Vater Abt Paisios is a good one for germans.
