Where once gold or goods bore weight from the labor of bodies and the consent of communities, fiat emerges ex nihilo through the alchemical ritual of central banking. It is the creation of “something” from nothing—and it demands your everything in return. Not simply your productivity, but your time, your attention, your belief. Fiat makes a mockery of consent: taxation without choice, inflation without representation, debt as inheritance.
Each dollar printed is not neutral—it is a claim on the future, a theft pre-authorized. The child yet unborn already owes. The citizen who resists already bleeds. The world that cannot speak—forests, oceans, silence—already burns.
This is the second wound: time enslaved to abstraction.
Fiat temporalizes existence into linear obligation. It turns the eternal now into a ledger. It reconfigures human life not as presence, but as yield. I believe something near the root of our societal problems today is The Death of God that happened nearly 150 years ago, and the society that was birthed from this patricide.

Imho the book is more nuanced in that it’s trying to point out that we don’t really understand ourselves, culture, history or background much anymore because we want to criticize so much without taking a real stance on anything. I think individuals like Karp, Thiel, Altman, and Musk all are easily made into characters of themselves when they tend to have deeper and more important messages they are trying to convey, but they usually need to be sought out and read in a detailed way that allow for what in between the lines to be well understood. 1. Bitcoin is infinitely divisable and nodes, not coin count controls the network
2. UASF proved we can blow them out, and ossification is a real option

Disagree, and happy that there is an alternative to market compete to see which thesis is right. This is one of the things I always thought was important about Monero was with the tail emission to see which model works out the best over time.

I’ve been trying to actively seek out the arguments against bitcoin again lately, and sadly, I am just seeing all of the same BS rehashed over and over.
It’s sad that these people won’t just bend the knee, eat the crow pie, and admit they were wrong and that bitcoin changes everything.
This is the real existential angst of what Bitcoin does and is, and it demands that you go through the deepest levels of philosophy and first principals thinking to accomplish it, of which many are unwilling to do; which is why they are either no-coiners or shitcoiners.

Supporting it is an implicit statement to all of the world, that even without knowing you, or any identifiable features about you, that you deserve the dignity of a free, fair, open-source money that is controlled by no one, and is open to anyone.

The food industrial complex is essentially grooming all of us for sugar addiction, metabolic sickness, and endemic health issues.
The corporate oligarchs poison the food with glyphosate, augmented the entire agricultural economy to destroy small ethical producers, and blast us with constant ads pushing this shit that slowly destroys our minds, bodies, and total well-being.
