Cirrus

Which client are you using ?
Damus supports it but Amethyst doesn’t
If you don’t see the ⚡️ icon underneath a post then it’s not supported, but you can still send LN payments in the normal way

Thanks guys. I did get some zaps thru in the end. Some legend even sent me 6969 sats 🤣🤩
Now I’m going to try and zap some followers on Amethyst who are having issues with receiving LN payments (Amethyst doesn’t have a direct zap feature yet)

So far of the people I'm following on nostr only 4 are active: #[0]
#[1]
#[2]
and #[3]
So my feed is just 4 people (worthy though they are)
Any suggestions for good follows of people who are actually posting stuff here?

I basically installed WoS just so I could get the tipping feature to work, but no one has actually tipped me yet 😂

2023-01-05 23:38:31 GMT

- reply

If it starts something like LNURL.. then it’s not an invoice for a set amount and won’t have any time limit.
WoS gives 3 options: Receive (invoice), Send and Lightning Address. It’s the 3rd kind of option you want for your tip setting

Use an LNURL address instead. Wallet of Satoshi works for one, but there may be others (eg Phoenix) that also support it

Net-net there should have been no issues as sends basically matched receives and I don’t see why I would have drained inbound liquidity
The issues started after an iOS update and then got worse (app update didn’t fix it)
The main problem is that most of the time it failed to find any connection to the network when I was experiencing no such issues with any other LN app

Phoenix used to be solid for me but recently it’s had problems connecting with any lightning server
It means that payments/receipts failed
It also seems to have forgotten that I already paid the 3000 sats to fund the original channel open. Don’t see any point in paying it all over again

The problem is that a lot of people in the Bitcoin space are happy to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. They’ll tell you that you have to run your own node and use exclusively non-custodial wallets etc
But if someone is new to the space and looking for any alternative to fiat then this approach just gets people running for the hills
IMO it’s ludicrous to say that you can’t use Muun as a newbie. Who cares about submarine swaps if you’re just a small merchant trying to serve customers?
Muun is totally fine to try for someone starting out, but take a look at Breez also
As for Phoenix, for me it’s been as buggy as hell in recent months and now I’ve stopped using it

As far as I can tell, it goes by order of last installed. Mine was invoking BlueWallet (which I don't use for LN payments) but when I installed Breez it switched to that as the default for payment

Try adding a Lightning address of the LNURL format (you can get it from Wallet of Satoshi)

I still have some strange issues even now:
- nothing appears in Posts, Posts & Replies
- nothing appears in DMs
- Follow doesn’t work
Basically, only the Global feed has any functionality for me, so when v4 broke that for iOS 15 I was quite upset 😭
