When you see multiple geohashes on an event, it's actually kind of a hack that is necessary so that when zooming in a map a given event is visblible at various levels without too much extra work. But this wasn't anticipated when the g tag was added to the protocol.
The g tag might only be referenced in nip 52 but it was around before that; it never came from a NIP but was just kinda added at some point.
So I don't think it needs to be part of NIP 52. Probably a new NIP, but because it's just a tag storing data and doesn't prescribe any new behavior to the protocol, a NIP may not be necessary. Just start using it! 🫡

Hello again Sjors! To introduce a new tag or some other protocol improvement, you can make a PR on the nostr-protocol/nips repository. Then, to get it merged it typically needs a general approval and to be implemented in at least 2 clients and 1 relay.
Having been in many geo discussion, I can tell you that privacy would be the top concern for having a wgs84 tag that pinpoints a location. Most photo uploading services on nostr (if not all) scrub exif data for privacy. But I can see legitimate reasons for broadcasting a coordinate, so if you can assuage the privacy concerns then it could be a useful addition.
I will mention that in the deep github lore around the g tag I recall it being said that any geo data could be put in there, not just geohashes. Nobody does this AFAIK, but you could technically just put a wgs84 coord in the g tag.

0. Set up a random email alias with simplelogin.io (works best with protonmail)
1. Set up a new disposable credit card with privacy.com
2. Set the spend limit on the card to $1
3. Give alias email and fake name/address/billing info to app (privacy.com doesn't care)
4. Use free trial. When it's up, they will fail to charge you because the card has insufficient funds.
5. Turn off email alias to not see annoying messages about your card not having enough money

AAA video games are having a lot of trouble these days. Independent game studios are making better games with less money. IMHO the proliferation of game making tools and knowledge enables decentralization of game development. People no longer wait for big studios to release their next favorite game; they just go find a favorite game and community among the millions of options out there now.
This same perspective can be applied to social media clients and other applications.
The future is local.
Sony spent 8 years working on Concord and they have officially shut the game down 2 weeks after launch 😂

Npub Pro sort of turns the flow optionally into this:
Kind 1 notes > RSS > Nostr on top
FanFares is only using the kind 31338 events for lightning gated podcasts, which won't exist in a typical RSS feed. So the podcast would have a free episode that talks about/links to the gated episode. This is what podcasts already do when they are posting "subscriber only" content.
Generally, our approach is adding nostr on top of podcasting 2.0, not trying to replace it.

Domains are a total shitcoin
- I purchased a domain through a new account at Namecheap
- I set up the DNS and launched a new website on my new domain
- I verified my email address for my Namecheap account
- My site went live
12 hours later
- My account was flagged for potential fraud because I used an email proxy
- My domains were revoked and PUT BACK ON THE MARKET FOR SALE
- My transaction was refunded
- My site went down
I then had to provide them either the transaction ID from my card statement or send them a photo of my PASSPORT. I gave them the transaction ID 🖕
Then, I had to:
- re-purchase my domain before someone else bought it
- reconfigure my DNS
SMH. Let's replace this garbage with nostr please

First thing coming is nostr-verified podcasts which is an easy way to designate an npub as the owner of an RSS feed and it fits neatly into the podcast 2.0 spec. GM @npub180c…h6w6. Today you can upload a podcast audio file to https://fanfares.io and it will be lightning-gated; each person must pay for it via lightning before they can listen. Once it is unlocked, it belongs to your pubkey and you can listen any time. As a podcaster, you must use Alby to receive zaps, and listeners must pay via Alby, which is a major weakness of the current FanFares platform we will be fixing.
We are working on a big version 2 of @npub16lv…7j3k which will be able to utilize any lightning provider in addition to a bunch of awesome new nostr+podcasting features, and when we launch it we will have to migrate the existing lightning-gated podcasts because v2 will be using the new kind 31338 from the audio track PR https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1043 . We will try to make this migration as seamless as possible.
FanFares doesn't currently create an RSS feed for you, so it is currently intended to be used by those who have an existing RSS feed and want to direct listeners to an exclusive piece of paid content with their free content.
If you publish kind 1 notes with media urls, npub.pro will create an RSS feed from that for you.
