Poor guy doesn't realize the feint towards Kiev was just a ploy. The Russian successfully trapped most of the Ukrainian troops they wanted to neutralize back then, but Lex is thinking that was a Zelensky win. The Russians didn't state goals necessarily connected to land- though I think they probably have some. They did state some goals related to 'denazification' and they did extremely well with that. They aren't doing too bad with land either.

I read it like I read an old ideological text I used to be fond of.
Used to call myself an anarchist as many influenced by the Austrian school of economics did. But it became apparent that there's a trap- the ideology prevents the implementation of principles, so you just basically embark on a never-ending attempt to "educate" the other people.
Well a lot of other people want power and will take it if they have a chance.
And a lot of people actually prefer to be subordinate. They want direction- someone to tell them what to do and/or that things will be okay.
In the bible there's patriarchy. There are kings. There's slavery- particularly noticeable because folks could be fine upstanding members of the faithful and keep slaves.
But instead of having a rather small hierarchy over our heads, now we have bureaucracy. Ten thousand rather than a few. And they tell us we are more free now. Hah!

This doesn't make sense in the full context of the New Testament. The "nations" clearly exist in Revelations. Some level of governance is legitimized by Jesus and later by Paul. I think you are reading the bible under the influence of ideology, but ideology has consistently failed to provide us decent results. If the nations are worshiping God in the new heaven and earth, clearly there's no intent to destroy them- at least not all of them. There's probably a Sodom or two, but overall we can't pretend nations are not generally a part of God's plan.

You know, it seems like- after attempting to take the life of one candidate and it fails- in this particular situation it might make sense for certain people to then attempt to take the life of the other one. It is the other one who is defying his donors, after all.
It would be easily staged as a retaliation from some orange man supporter. Yet, no doubt, if it is done, it will be done more professionally and the people who benefit will be those same democrat donors droning on about how Biden must resign.
This isn't a strong prediction or anything. I just realized things might work out well for these donors, the globalists, "THEM" if it does happen.
Because everything is so tilted to Trump right now, I don't think they can fake it like they did last time- and they relied on the fact that most people aren't very numerate and can't understand a statistical argument. Maybe that's what they want- let Trump win and then let the economy collapse and blame him for it.
But that means other interests- like those pushing war will be put out. Ukraine, the Middle East, our increasing bellicosity towards China- all that would stop with Trump. Additionally, whoever is into allowing so much illegal migration here would be put out. So some folks won't give in and just let him win. I guess it depends on what percentage of 'them' are down with one thing rather than the other.

They take the research and then insist everyone should eat breakfast, but a healthy person with a fast metabolism will naturally want breakfast. If you are trying to lose weight and you aren't hungry, it makes sense not to eat- burn the fat you are trying to lose.
Hopefully, we eventually create the same conditions- i.e. we eat breakfast because we are healthy, have a fast metabolism, etc... but it doesn't make sense to pronounce this meal as an essential. What are your goals? Are you hungry? This isn't an arena where 'fake it till you make it' works.

More likely a defensive measure. Reduce exposure to the lunatic government. Hold the dollars in case China has to deal with the same SWIFT related problems Russia did. Perhaps they have a military project in mind that USG may not like.
I don't see them needing a lot of USD liquidity as a buffer just to flip the peg. They just need to be willing to have a lot of HKD holders be unhappy. But I also think this is probably way down on the priority list. Of course, I'm in America, listening to our crazy government doing and saying crazy things, so I'm more inclined to think priority number one is reduce exposure/reliance on these complete nuts.

A patriarch would be less likely to be a coercive monopoly, since he would be strongly related to the people he was defending. Beats some wage earning bureaucrat- especially from out of state- any day. It has been part of the modern propaganda to paint the ancients with the same brush.
If we focus on incentives, we can get close to the real thing we want. If we follow modern propaganda, we will just get bureaucracies particularly adept at saying things like voluntary exchange while exploiting us.
This is similar to how America has ruined the terms free markets, or even freedom in general across the globe. For too long it has obviously meant do whatever the US gov wants. Few people get past this and into a principled understanding of any of this. Hoppe himself admitted that kings have incentives better aligned with the people than bureaucrats do.
We'd just rather not have kings, but the principles don't apply themselves. Someone must apply them- and in many cases apply them ruthlessly. We will see nothing like the society imagined in these scenarios without that someone. And that someone simply cannot be a bureaucrat. They are too misaligned- not only with humanity in general, but even with themselves. They can know, individually, that their hierarchy is going to ultimately destroy the institution they are inhabiting, but they will continue to obey and/or promote bad behavior because their bread is buttered by that hierarchy. They'll keep quiet and hope they get to retirement before everything breaks down.

Generally a private firm reaches a certain size and relies on lobbying the government. Sure, getting rid of the government would help more private firms stick to voluntary exchange principles, but there is a very real chance some company would find itself in the position to be the top dog in a particular area- especially when it came to issues like defense.
It seems to me the best way to align incentives is if the defender was more like a king or patriarch, and said defender actually had most of his wealth ensconced in the territory he was responsible for defending. Then there are fewer perverse incentives.
But if we don't try to directly end bureaucratic rule, we end up with people who get paid regardless of outcome- and may even get bonuses for creating more wars and/or other poor outcomes for a territory they supposedly defend. There's no panacea- there would still be people tempted to do the wrong thing, but if the incentives are aligned correctly, it would happen less often, and certainly wouldn't be systematic- or global, as we've seen with the the nonsense we've had to deal with over the past few years.

I enjoyed this type of stuff immensely when I was younger, but at some point I realized the insurance companies would become just as bad as government because the key problem in our current age is bureaucracy.
Just as government creates problems and then pretends to be a solution to those problems, so do most of it's children- corporations. Bureaucracies must grow- status is determined by having more people with professional sounding titles under you and forget about sane protocols that would actually help the customers- look at the medical industry for a metric ton of examples.

In an abstract sense, what we need from AI is truthful patterns of information, preferably ones that aren't intuitive. Then we create the hypotheses and run the experiments. Color revolution. We live in a world where, assuming you have any idea of what democracy is- you would have to reform the institutions. Then there needs to be deviations from the standard SRS model- trails to see if it can be improved. Generating hypotheses based off of patterns and then testing.

So the trick is to figure out what leads to better understanding. Beat the curve of forgetting, and go beyond that. Perhaps, several iterations later, it's no longer just a plugin for Anki, but a completely different program. For my purposes, I could see queuing a lot of vocab and perhaps grammar before watching a particular video, so that my understanding of Japanese in that particular video would be at a level where a lot of it would click.

Nostr solves the identity issue. Lightning helps solve the cost issue. But the potential users all have value- their cards that they've been trying to learn. You get a lot of info about what they've been doing, but specific to attempting to learn.
So the AI's job is to figure out what helps us learn faster. The spaced repetition stuff isn't good enough- we are often just doing that in the hope that we can keep the stuff around in our memory long enough to develop a stronger cognitive understanding.

I don't know how well this will work, but here is my idea:
A lot of people try to learn using Anki. This is spaced-repetition flash card program. Write a plugin- the program doesn't quite work as it should, so it needs better accuracy re the curve of forgetting.
But that's just the basics. With Anki, you have the users, and you have the database of cards. Your AI system can train on the data. For what purpose?
To help humans get smarter.

Since it can get me so mad, I don't want to watch it. Back on twitter, I had to stop following Cernovich, because he'd post so much abuse related tweets. I don't know if he still does it, but at the time I realized I probably need to keep distance. Lending in bitcoin. Since only 21 million will be made, and some of it will be lost, wouldn't it made sense to lend with regard to buying power? Target, say 5% increase in buying power, not specific amount of bitcoin. If bitcoin goes up, borrower has to return less. But if bitcoin goes down, borrower has to return more. Bootstrap the bitcoin economy, but there's hedging and a return for the lender. Seems like it would be better for the lender than those old coin fountains from back in the day.

I am not wrong in the way you think I am. Just found out stearoylethanolamide is an endocannabinoid made from stearic acid- saturated fat! So not all are made from AA. So some should be less inflammatory. But it still should makes sense to look at the ones marijuana delivers to see how many are inflammatory. MMT was a bunch of observations based on accounting- it turns out a lot of stuff mainstream economists tells us don't work because they just ignore how the money must flow. The body can convert linoleic acid into arachidonic acid, so all the seed oil eaters probably have more than us sane animal product eaters.
The fact that the endocannabinoid system is part of this inflammatory pathway is the one thing that recently made me wonder if marijuana is as safe as I thought it was.
This could be like an addictive situation, except the addiction is largely inside the body- the seed oil junkie needs ever larger amounts of endocannabinoids to feel good, while the animal product eater has a well balanced system and can't understand what the fuss is about.
Inflammation is necessary to heal, so a little is good, but it must resolve quickly. But whether its seed oils or marijuana, the behavior pattern seems to be chronic, which leads to constant, unresolved inflammation.
So, yeah, I'm still not sure about this, and I like the sentiment in the video. But the logic, based on what I know, point in the direction I mentioned.

Nah, you are reading too much in to my response and personalizing it. TDS is obvious among democrats and a lot of mainstream republicans- like Paul Ryan saying anybody but Trump. But those anybodies aren't anyone likely to do better than Trump. They won't provide a valid candidate let alone one good at governance.
A valid candidate by the way, is one who could swear to uphold the constitution without obviously lying due to a whole bunch of unconstitutional promises he's already made.

Yes. I noticed he leans heavily on experts back when the fires in California were going. In that case it was mostly a good thing. When he adopted some of their language (I think it was the term 'sweeping') our low iq journalists started making fun of him.
Given the tragic nature of American politics though, no one better can get near a nomination.

It was a possum. It may be hurt. Theoretically I could grab it, but I don't want to get bit. Also don't want it to move further away, especially if it is going to die or something. The conspiracy to deprive me of sleep culminated in guys cutting the grass next door at 7:30am. Probably should have gone to the gym, but I've only had like 3hrs of sleep after that possum or whatever tried to invade my home.

Something that seemed ridiculously large seemed to think getting under my tub was a good idea. It sounded like it had a fight with something else, which is what alerted me to it's existence. I only had a few things on hand to attempt to dissuade it- wood vinegar, peppermint oil, banging on various parts of my house to try and get it to go away.
What seemed to work though- I took a shower. This was in part, inspired by the dastardly creature, because I certainly worked up a sweat trying to get it to leave. It made a sort of hissing noise and sounded dangerous, but after the shower, I haven't heard that sound again- even though I tried banging again.
It either left, or decided to shut up. Hopefully, it didn't have fleas or anything contagious.

I would look at it like being a curator. You bring something to the attention of people who wouldn't know about it otherwise.
But, of course, it'd be nice to give back to the original creator, so that more cool stuff gets created. This is why a lot of thought was given to being able to split lightning payments with various creators in the podcasting 2.0 world. Perhaps some of that will come to zaps one day. It is almost necessary in a sense, because everybody involved in the infrastructure needs a cut so the system can continue to run.
If it's something freely available on the internet, you haven't broken any laws. You'd have to break the law first, like maybe pirating something and then posting it here. The mea culpa of me not actually being a lawyer- and who knows what they can decide is illegal when they are out to get you- applies here.

Nah. Look at bio-available nutrients per gram of the food. Then you will see the meat is better. The fat is more iffy because it often depends on what the animal ate. But the animal fat tends to be more saturated, so less inflammatory O-6. I'm not saying it's a fiat miracle, but it's a miracle in comparison.

If the rise of these mercenary private armies continues, and bitcoin becomes widely regarded as the best money, would there be a clientele shift? Would these private armies cease to contract with nations that pay them in rapidly devalued currency and contract with those who can pay them in bitcoin instead?
Of course, historically, these periods in which mercenaries held great sway were somewhat chaotic. But in a sense, it is probably an intermediary step to a new re-ordering. The Westphalian project is falling apart. The only people who think they know what the new order will look like are the narcissistic globalists who think they can construct it to be what they want it to be.
