I used to listen to Dave Emory’s podcast (before he had whatever horrible health condition that destroyed his voice) who talked at length about what he called technocratic fascism and the underground Nazi movement that has been embedding itself in industry and government since the end of WWII. None of this is news, but seeing it play out more or less exactly how it was described over the past 10-20 years is still horrifying.

I do a fair amount of in-person onboarding, so anything that forces the user to leave the app to configure things is usually a dealbreaker. If most of the functions getalby.com could be replicated within the app, it would go a long way to simplifying the process.
I get that none of it works without Alby Hub, but has there been any discussion about a way to add ecash or a nodeless (e.g. Lightning to Liquid) option for beginners, or does that not fit within the scope of development?

Nodestrich was started in January 2023 by myself and @npub1rcr…cfuz as a way to find as many existing and aspiring noderunners as possible. It actually predates zapping on @npub18m7…q955 and many other clients!
The goal was to help more users learn how to use bitcoin and Lightning self-custodially. We saw how many people were using @npub1hcw…h9rq, and knew that would end badly for a lot of people. It did, when they left the United States less than a year later.
Two years on, it's grown to over 275 nodes (it was once a bit higher, but @npub19tc…nlea purged the inactive ones) and we're now the third largest community listed there.

Will the OPA wallet be available only as a subscription feature or will there be a free level at some point?
Use case: I want to onboard a friend to bitcoin quickly, I gift them some sats with the OPA wallet. They can start using it right away, connect it to NWC, etc., but the premium features in the app are locked. If they want to upgrade later, they can pay directly from their wallet.
