Vocabulary of Water
Water serves as both subject and collaborator in this ongoing exploration of abstraction. Rather than documenting a landscape, these photographs investigate the visual vocabulary created by reflection, light, and movement. As recognizable forms dissolve into line, gesture, and structure, the surface of the water becomes a place where representation gives way to pattern and perception.
l. Line
Using the surface of the water as a starting point, this series reduces reflection and movement into geometric compositions. By emphasizing repetition and lines, the images invite viewers to move beyond recognizing water as a subject and instead experience it as shape, rhythm, and form.
2. Gesture
Here is the quieter, more fluid patterns that emerge across the water's surface. Curving lines and looping forms drift across the frame, creating abstract compositions that suggest movement without depicting a specific moment or event. The photographs examine the way light and water collaborate to produce fleeting drawings that exist only for an instant before dissolving into something entirely new.
3. Structure
In this group of images, the surface of the water becomes a study in structure. Light, reflection, and movement combine to create layered compositions that balance organic motion with an unexpected sense of order. The photographs—monochrome images with high contrast—are arranged as diptychs and polyptychs to map out a scenography of wandering. Radical black and white serves as the instrument of this transformation. It strips the world down to its essentials: a vibration of grays, a tension between fullness and emptiness. Through this interplay of contrasts, dry grass becomes punctuation on an invisible manuscript, while architectural structures become the silence that holds it.
Photography becomes a quest for this threshold. By exploring the edge, the limit, and the breaking point between materials, I attempt to capture a nameless place, a score of silence where a line becomes script and space transforms into an elemental sign. Here, the image is no longer a window onto the world, but the trace of a place that exists solely through the meeting of light and shadow.
Everything here is a matter of confrontation. The silence of the flooded pools—mirrors of a world suspended in time—clashes with the tragic scars of past fires. Charred trunks, standing as stark, graphic sentinels, contrast with the resilience of new shoots striving to erase the traces of devastation. Between shadow and light, between the solidity of rock and the void of space, my work focuses on the "edge"—the very place where metamorphosis unfolds.

I am drawn to moments where people, objects, and constructed forms converge or briefly stand in for one another. People occupy space and segue into moments where shadows, portraits, and mannequins hold the same visual weight as live bodies. This body of work interweaves the concept of what and how moves through the observed world, even as it begins to feel slightly misaligned, as if reality might be on a momentary hiatus. These photographs describe my way of seeing.

As a street and landscape photographer, I aim to capture emotions through static scenes, sometime commuters in the move. Inspired by cinema, especially the colorful Wes Anderson, I believe photography is about intuitively « hearing » the music of elements and geometry. This artwork is a 35mm and digital mixture, witnessing various golden hour and nightfall scenes. My work doesn’t feature any innovation, fantasy and limits post-editing. Instead, themes like the nature, the people, modest scenes and slices of everyday life allow a dialogue with the spectator, hence closing the cinematic loop which I aim to create; living my photography as a poster, why not like a dream.

Over the past few weeks, we've been quietly working on something that feels like a natural extension of everything we've been building at NOICE.
It's called "Proof of Work"
Part book, part audiobook, it brings together lessons from over a decade of publishing photography, reviewing portfolios, curating work, making photographs, and exploring the ideas of time, value, attention, and sound money.
Over the years, we've come to believe that these subjects are more connected than they first appear. #Photography teaches you to pay attention. Editing teaches you restraint. Building something over the long term teaches patience. #Bitcoin teaches you to think differently about time and value. This project is my attempt to bring those ideas together in one place.
The book contains 30 chapters, an appendix, and complete audio narration so you can listen, read, or move between both. It's also paired with 30 of my own photographs - not as decoration, but as proof of the years spent walking, observing, and making work for the simple joy of seeing.
There are a few ways to access the book, but my favorite is the chapter-by-chapter option using sats. Readers can unlock chapters individually and move through the material at their own pace. It felt like the most honest way to present something that was written to be absorbed slowly rather than consumed all at once.

Q: what makes a good photograph?
A: For me, a good photograph invites reflection. I am drawn to images that create tension between reality and interpretation, where the familiar becomes uncertain or unsettling without being too obvious. Photography gains meaning for me when it reveals something hidden within the everyday, not through explanation, but through ambiguity, atmosphere, and contradiction.

This series does not truly move through a physical place, but rather through a perceptual and mental state. More than documenting a real space, it attempts to explore an inner condition.
The project begins within a dense, tense environment, almost suffocated by the accumulation of signs. Gradually, the rhythm of the images changes and begins to open up, until the landscape seems to dissolve and become more rarefied, through an alternation of visual rhythms.
The series works through rhythm and perception: each photograph attempts to alter the breathing space of the next. Through this process, the work became a form of slowing down and pacification.

DD/MM/YYYY is a series of personal photographic explorations of place and presence. It explores time and what remains of it as it flows between us. In a way, it is an isolation in a small universe that I am trying to create and within which I am trying to exist comfortably.
What I discover (or find) in this series are human forms and traces of nature, bombarded by fragments of memory that I collect to create this new passage, which may be a new isolation or a way out. At the same time, I am attempting to remain consciously present, aware, always in the way that every new answer leads to a new question, starting a new circle while ending the previous one.
As I look back on this project’s moments of creation, I observe that there is always something more to unfold: a reminder of what is actually important without seeming important; a fleeting glimpse of the everyday, magical, yet trivial events that life provides.

"In January 1995, Italian media reported the disappearance of Harry Kipper, an English artist and cycle tourist. According to the reports, he was travelling across Friuli by bicycle, tracing the word “ART” through the route of his journey, when he vanished near the Slovenian border.
Local and national newspapers formulated hypotheses, gathered clues and issued appeals. The television programme Chi l’ha visto? also took an interest in the case.
It would later emerge that Harry Kipper had never existed: he was a fictional character invented by the Luther Blissett collective to test the permeability of the media system. This work does not reconstruct that event, but moves through Friuli as a territory of plausible ambiguity, where a story can be believed because it aligns with the forms it takes and the environment that sustains it..."

Over the past 8 years, I’ve immersed myself in street photography, studying the works of Harry Gruyaert, Joel Meyerowitz, Martin Parr, and Lee Friedlander. I spent countless hours in libraries flipping through photobooks, learning through trial and error, and refining my way of seeing.
Now, my camera is always with me. I document life as it happens—raw, unscripted, sometimes humorous, sometimes unexpected. I look for the chaos, the quiet, the fleeting moments that would otherwise disappear.

These submitted images all stem from my first book, The Great Filter, in which I explore the connections between the environmental crisis, the threat of nuclear war, and one of humanity’s biggest questions: “Are we alone in the universe?”
Over the course of two months, I undertook a comprehensive exploration of various locations in the United States, with a specific focus on documenting facets of alien research and UFO-related folklore, and how these intertwine with the American military-industrial complex and the climate emergency we are witnessing today".

"I define my work as photography of the commonness, through which I have been documenting everyday life in shared spaces since 2008. It is a form of photography that seeks to capture what seems obvious before it is forgotten. It is an observation of human behaviour and a documentation of the apparent harmony between our existence and the natural environment. With every click of the shutter, I am left with a question for years to come - what story will this photograph tell, what part of the past will it capture, and how will everyday life change in the meantime? Documenting everyday life in this way gives me the feeling of living a double life. Time slips through our fingers too quickly, but all these photos form a kind of separate timeline".

"This is a chronicle of the everyday—a documentation of fleeting moments where reality arranges itself into unexpected configurations: absurd, poetic, and humorous, revealing its inherent theatricality.
The subjects include chance passersby, animals, and the remnants of human presence encountered during six years of spontaneous walks with a camera across Poland.
These photographs operate on the borderline between document and interpretation. The shutter release not only freezes time but also extracts non-obvious connections, accidental visual rhymes, and surprising juxtapositions from the chaos of daily life. What escapes notice in the rush of a common day becomes visible here, encouraging a fresh, different perspective on the surrounding world.
The title Common Days and Feast Days suggests that the boundary between the ordinary and the extraordinary is fluid. A "feast day" or "holiday" doesn't have to be planned—it can happen at any moment, if only we possess the ability to perceive it. This collection proposes such an attitude: a contemplation of the everyday which, when observed with intention, reveals its uniqueness, its absurdity, and its unexpected beauty.
It is a story about the fact that the extraordinary is constantly happening all around us. One only needs to notice".

"It was the summer of 2020 when it all started. In the parking lot of a campsite in the Netherlands I capture the first Undercover. I could never imagine that this picture would become the beginning of a series.
There is something intriguing about these shapes, covered with reflective, dirty, or shiny plastic. Standing there in the middle of the street. Stripped of all the dynamism and movement a vehicle has, even when standing still. No more speed. No more aerodynamics. No more lines. Just a quiet, anonymous shape.
The undercovers come from different places in France, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. Different streets, same quiet presence".

A ghost-like figure appears between clarity and disappearance, while an eclipse and the northern lights move across the sky like distant signals. "Taranto stands as a paradigmatic example of how economic and industrial development in Italy—particularly in the South—has often been chaotic, shaped by political complicity and clientelism, and marked by long-term, devastating consequences for local territories.
Today, Taranto is considered one of the most polluted cities in Europe. For decades, the number of people affected by pollution-related diseases has steadily increased. The industrial plant—referred to locally simply as “the factory”—was transferred from state ownership to various private administrations in the 1990s, before returning to state control in 2020. However, the structural issues responsible for its harmful emissions have never been fully resolved.
Taranto is the city where I was born and where I still live. To investigate it as a photographer has meant confronting a place to which I am deeply connected—a place that holds my family, my friends, and my personal history. In this body of work, I have attempted, as much as possible, to distance myself from my own lived experience and to approach the city with a more analytical, almost scientific perspective.
I chose to conduct this photographic investigation as if it were an autopsy—returning to the original Greek meaning of the word autopsia, “to see with one’s own eyes.” I systematically examined and dissected the streets of Taranto, searching for evidence, while remaining faithful to a photojournalistic approach grounded in direct observation and firsthand knowledge.
The project began with the superimposition of a map of Taranto and its industrial area onto an image resembling a lung tumor scan. "While living and teaching in Hong Kong, I began photographing basketball courts. They appeared everywhere across the city: beside schools, between housing towers, on rooftops and in open courtyards. What first drew me to them was not the game itself but the geometry of colour and the rhythm of repetition. Circles, lines and rectangles laid across painted surfaces that felt both functional and quietly meditative.
In Hong Kong these courts are woven deeply into the architecture of the city. Many sit within the vast public housing estates that define its skyline, places where everyday life gathers and circulates. They operate as small social stages embedded within dense urban neighbourhoods, spaces where recreation, observation and community life intersect..."

My photographic practice is a contemplative exploration of dreamscapes devoid of human presence. By removing the figure, I seek to translate the subtle and mystical dialogue between architecture and the land — between man-made structures and the natural environment. In this absence, light and shadow emerge as the main protagonists, revealing geometric forms and unexpected volumes that shape the emotional atmosphere of each scene.
Each photograph represents a pursuit of stillness and abstraction, captured with a Canon 5D Mark III or Canon G1X. My intention is not to document a location, but to transform it into a refined and graphic composition that invite viewers to experience the quiet strength and unspoken poetry that exist between structure and emptiness.Through this exploration, I aim to give form to silence — to evoke spaces where architecture holds memory, and light becomes emotion.
Influenced by the Bauhaus movement, the photographic investigations of Éric Tabuchi and Nelly Monnier, and the cinematic sensibility of Walt Disney’s art director Ken Anderson, my practice is grounded in a cross-cultural dialogue. I travel extensively through France and Europe, guided by a fascination with Morocco’s luminous landscapes, as well as the monumental austerity of Soviet Brutalism.

"See me!" is a project with pictures of sandboxes. More precisely, boxes with lids, usually made of plastic, with sand in them that are used to prevent slipping.
The project is about seeing what we would rather not see. Or try to avoid seeing.
Sandboxes are a necessary evil but few people think they are beautiful. They are almost everywhere. We tend to stop seeing such things.
The same applies to some people. Often those who are a bit on the fringes of society. Like the homeless and the mentally ill.
I have tried to take the pictures of sandboxes in a respectful way. Partly because I believe that all people should be met with respect.
For a while I tried to photograph the homeless but it felt difficult to get images that captured their situation in a sufficiently respectful way. The choice fell on sandboxes. For me, they represent the homeless in some way. They are out in all weathers. They often look a little worn.
The origin of the project was that my now deceased mother began to get worse. To deal with the anxiety I felt, I started photographing sandboxes. Photography became a kind of therapy for me.
I think that the reason the project turned out the way it did is because my mother suffered from a psychological illness and that during a period of her life she devoted herself to helping the homeless.
The project is in memory of my mother, you could say"
